Snow blower model numbers are located on the backside of the metal base between the left and right rear-wheels. The 11-character model number is printed on the left side of the Product Identification Label and will begin with the letters “CM”.
A company called MTD makes Craftsman, Cub Cadet, and Troy-Bilt models. The Husqvarna company makes units under the Husqvarna, Jonsered, and Poulan Pro brands. Ariens makes Ariens and Sno-Tek models.
The 1st three numbers of your serial number will always provide your manufacture date. The 1st number is the YEAR of manufacture; the 2nd & 3rd numbers indicate the MONTH of manufacture.

ANSWER : On your pull rope housing youll find 3 to 4 bolts remove the housing inside youll find the place were the rope was tied in [ if it just came untied ] just rember to spin counter clock wise for your tinshion befor replaceing the rope then put back together

ANSWER : Try your local power equipment dealer. They usually have many brands in stock and may be able to match one up with a different manufacturer if they don’t carry your brand.

ANSWER : As long as your deck mounts match up then you should be good to go. You might have to change to a different sized belt though. Other than that everything should be fine.

I have a craftsman 42″ lt 1000 model tractor and need the part number or diagram for the shaft that connects the pully on one end and the blade on the bottom. I do not have the model number and the mower is somewhere else. Is this shaft common on most craftsman 42″ riders?
