Are you sure the blade has not been installed backward? The saw should run counterclockwise.

How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

When you`re installing your circular saw blade, it`s just a matter of making sure those two arrows match each other. For blade-right models, the correct circular saw blade direction is usually with the label side out. For saws that have the blade on the left, it typically installs with the “ugly” side out.
You can run a saw blade backwards and it cuts pretty well. However it is not at all a good idea. The two big reasons not to do this is that saw tips are much more likely to come off if the saw blade is run backwards and that the whole saw blade is much more likely to come apart if it is run backwards.
Cleaning and lubricating the motor:

If dust, dirt, or fine particles have accumulated in the motor, this can lead to several problems, causing a circular saw to stop while cutting wood. To fix this problem, you can clean the motor to remove all the sawdust that has accumulated in it.

The Makita DHS660 Brushless Circular Saw has a indication lamp for Automatic Torque Drive Technology (ADT). If high torque a green is light on, high speed the lights out and overload alert the light blinks green.
Circular saws cut on the upward stroke, which means that they rotate in a clockwise fashion, cutting from the bottom up. This is why when you`re using a circular saw, the side of the wood that will be your “good” side should be facing down.
Overheating a saw blade can cause it to warp and result in a kickback. Buildup of sap on the blades, insufficient set, dullness and unguided cuts, can all cause an overheated blade and kickback. Never set a blade deeper than is required to cut the work piece 1/8 in. to 1/4 in.
A good circular saw can last you for 10 to 20 years depending on the amount of use and how you maintain it.
A Dull or Dirty Saw Blade Might Be the Culprit

A dull blade will make it hard to cut quickly, and the slower the feed rate of the saw, the more friction against the wood and the greater the likelihood of scorch marks. Pushing the stock through the saw too slowly is a common cause of saw blade burn.

If the charging light flashes alternately red and green, when the battery has been inserted into the charger connected with power source, fuse (F2) may be broken.
The LED on the battery charger will flash between red and green after it has completed its charging cycle. This can occur with Nickel Metal Hydride batteries (PTS360) that are still within their warranty period (1 year). This condition does not indicate an equipment failure.
A properly maintained cold saw blade should last a long time, even with extensive use. Circular cold saw blades can endure as many as 800 to 1,000 cuts before needing to be sharpened, and they can be sharpened up to 30 or 40 times during the lifespan of the blade.
Insert and tighten the blade bolt until it is finger tight. Lock the blade by depressing the blade lock button. Use the wrench to tighten the bolt the rest of the way, about 1/8th of a turn. Do not over tighten.
When appearance matters, make cuts with the good side facing down, as circular saws can splinter the wood on the top side. Making your cut line on masking tape can reduce splintering. Start over if you see that you`ve veered off from the cut line instead of trying to curve your way back on track.
What should you do before start cutting with a circular saw? Wear safety glasses or goggles, or a face shield (with safety glasses or goggles). Wear an approved respirator or dust mask when exposed to harmful or nuisance dusts. Use appropriate hearing protection equipment in noisy areas.
Essentially when a piece of wood touches the blade on an angle or gets bumped out of alignment it catches the blade in the teeth and gets thrown back. The most effective way to avoid kickback on a table saw is by using a riving knife. Most table saws have these installed right behind the blade.
Reciprocating Saw

Like a jig saw, a reciprocating saw has a blade that quickly moves back and forth to cut. They can cut through various materials, such as wood, tubing and plastic. Reciprocating saws can also cut through metal, including pipes and nails.

Rotary saws are different then circular saws due to the rotation of the cutting blade. Often times these terms are incorrectly transposed. With a circular saw, the blade cuts from the bottom up and the user pushes the saw away. With a rotary saw, the blade cuts from the top down and the user pulls the saw.
A backsaw is any hand saw which has a stiffening rib on the edge opposite the cutting edge, enabling better control and more precise cutting than with other types of saws. Backsaws are normally used in woodworking for precise work, such as cutting dovetails, mitres, or tenons in cabinetry and joinery.
When appearance matters, make cuts with the good side facing down, as circular saws can splinter the wood on the top side. Making your cut line on masking tape can reduce splintering. Start over if you see that you`ve veered off from the cut line instead of trying to curve your way back on track.
Disadvantages of the circular saw:

The main disadvantage of the disc saw is that it is more dangerous than other power saws such as the jigsaw or a saber saw. Another disadvantage is that the disc saw is only good for making straight cuts, so it is not as versatile as a jigsaw.

I went out and bought brand new battery and after one usage it would not hold charge and blades will still not engage. Would the issue related to the battery effect the engagement of the blades???
ANSWER : If your Alternator didn’t charging the battery, even though you brand new battery will not last. So there is two possible cause, 1) Your Alternator is not functioning. 2) there is a wiring problem that causing your battery to discharge easily, but you check it after you switch off the key remove the battery negative terminal then touch it back to batt term. and see if there is little blue spark, if does your wiring system got problem. If not, so your Alternator do not charge the battery.
