How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

The most common reasons are that your BLi battery has been put in storage while discharged and that it has drained during storage. The other reasons for the BLi battery not being able to charge after storage are that you might have stored it wet or the battery was stored in a highly humid room.
If the PTO clutch is not getting power, if the clutch solenoid is defective, or if the clutch is worn out, the lawn mower blades will not engage. The PTO clutch is not repairable—if the clutch is defective, you must replace it.
If your lawn mower battery won`t hold a charge, verify connections are clean and tight first, then connect it to the charger. If it isn`t fully charged within 8 hours, your battery is dead and you`ll need to replace it. If your lawn mower battery does charge fully, the charge should not drain if it is not in use.
If one, or more, blades are not rotating, the cutting deck belt is worn out and needs to be replaced. This should be done by an authorised dealer.
Batteries lose their charge over a period of time, usually three to four weeks in the case of lawn mower batteries. Waiting long periods between uses may be enough to drain the battery sufficiently that it will not restart the mower. Even a small loss of charge is enough to make starting difficult if not impossible.
A clogged carburetor is most commonly caused by leaving fuel in the lawn mower for a long period of time. Over time, some of the ingredients in the fuel may evaporate, leaving behind a thicker, stickier substance. This sticky fuel can clog up the carburetor and cause the engine to stall.
The pulleys in your lawn tractor are driven by the drive belt, and turn the spindles. If a pulley doesn`t spin freely, it can cause the engine to die when the blades are engaged. To check the pulleys for sticking and damage, first remove the drive belt from the engine pulley and lift the lever to engage the blades.
Whenever the blade is engaged, it rotates on a crankshaft to cut the grass. But if there is interference in this rotation, the engine can overload and shut off or lose power. Check the crankshaft connection to see if it rotates freely. Inspect the connecting hardware for damage or rust.
It`s easy: mix and dissolve Epsom salt and distilled water in the proportion 1/3. The issue can be resolved by adding the solution to the battery cells at the battery terminal until the plates are covered by 1/4 to 1/2.
A dried out or sticky pin is one of the most common reasons for blades to stop spinning. If they spin easily and there`s no resistance, try turning your fan on and see if the pin spins. If it doesn`t, the problem isn`t the pin and there is probably a short in the motor.
Husqvarna Long Life Safety Blades should be replaced every 6-8 weeks and Husqvarna Endurance Safety Blades every 3-4 months. Replacing your Automower® blades is relatively straightforward. If you`re not sure how to do it, it`s always best to have your Elite Automower® Dealer do it for you.
Deformed Blade

In some cases, the unnatural shape of the blade can be enough to prevent you from tightening it properly. A bent shape can also mess with the blade`s overall balance. An unbalanced mower blade can produce vibrations that will loosen the bolt over time.

A new lawn battery should last between three and five years. In order to achieve that, however, it`s important to perform regular maintenance. Here are a few tips to help you get the longest life possible out of your battery.
Typically, the lifetime of Husqvarna BLi batteries is 600 complete cycles for consumer batteries and up to 1500 complete cycles for professional batteries.
With the right maintenance, your mower can live well and strong for about 15 years. With the peak season of mowing approaching: here are Husqvarna`s best tips on how to care for your machine.
The alternator provides voltage to the lawn mower while the engine is running and also recharges the battery.
A riding lawn mower with an especially small engine may have a 6-volt battery. The lawn mower`s alternator keeps its battery charged. A few hours of mowing recharges it the same way hours of highway driving can keep your car battery mostly charged.
Try a Charging Session

Connect your questionable battery to a lawn mower battery charger. Set it for 12 volts, which is the standard in the industry. Most lawn and garden devices have this voltage rating as a way to keep consumers safe from any shock. Allow the charger to power up the battery for up to eight hours.

My Husqvarna LT1538D riding mower only charges the battery up to about 12.3 volts. So, I have to charge the battery, a new one, about twice to get through the cutting season. The dealer worked on it last year and said they replaced the diode and but didn’t find anything wrong with the mower. At the time I didn’t have a volt meter but now I know it isn’t charging properly. Where is the diode and stator located?
ANSWER : On almost any engine you pull the flywheel and you will see the charging coil. Once out it can be tested by yourself or any competent electrician. Good luck. donnyb60

I bought the 23 HP 48″ Husqvarna tractor after I cut my lawn the first time it would not start by itself. It is always dead and I have to jump it. It is only a month old. I take the key out of the ignition and make sure the light is out. What could that be. It tested 12V after turning it off, but will be dead in a day or so. ????
ANSWER : Try removing the battery after the next cut and have it tested. If it test good leave it out. If it keeps it’s charge you have a draw on the battery. The simple fix is to install a switch on the negative side of the battery. If it drains out of the unit you have a bad battery. Thanks for choosing Fix ya

Husqvarna lawn tractor stop running has battery power and gas. Was using at when it stoped. Is it switch or senorid switch.
ANSWER : Does the engine turn over when you turn the key. If it does then it is
mostly not getting fuel past the carb into the engine. If it does not turn over
then it could be the switch or solenoid but it could also be a problem in your
wiring system or a safety switch which is interrupting the ignition.

What size and how many blades do I need for my husqvarna 21 hp riding mower with a 46 inch deck?
ANSWER : Well I guess laying down next to it and taking a look under the mower deck is beyond the question. One could ask about how many teeth the horse has or just look in its mouth. However, I am going to guess 3 blades as 2 blade units usually are 42″ cut maximum. Mine is 48″ and has 3 blades.
