How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

Lawn equipment (including lawn mowers, lawn tractors, and even trimmers and blowers) is designed to run at full throttle to give the best performance. Your blade will turn faster at higher throttling, which is essential to proper cutting.
The most likely culprit is a dirty or clogged air filter. Issues with your fuel pump or fuel filter can also cause your engine to idle then die with any throttle. If you have an older car, it could also be a bad carburetor.
There is no need, nothing to be gained, and only damage done to the engine (however slight). It doesn`t tell you anything about the engine or the car.
Your engine wears faster when you apply full/big throttle. It is not so bad if your engine is warmed up, and you are not driving like this all the time, this is why you have the rev range up to 6500. When your engine is fully warmed up you can use the high revs for overtaking and going uphill.
Fuel is introduced into the air stream through small holes (the main jets) at the narrowest part of the venturi, where the air is at its highest speed. Downstream of the venturi is a throttle (usually in the form of a butterfly valve) which is used to control the amount of air entering the carburetor.
Recommended Services. If the throttle body was causing a hard start, then the engine would run with a loss of power all the time.
Lugging your engine, or driving at full throttle in a high gear with low RPM, can result in damage to your engine, especially for small turbocharged engines, known as low speed pre-ignition. By accelerating in a high gear at a low engine RPM, you`re putting your engine at a huge gearing disadvantage.
When the throttle body gets dirty, it has a direct effect on how smoothly the engine operates. Signs indicating a problem include rough idling, jumpy or sluggish acceleration, poor fuel economy, and stalling. With the use of a throttle body cleaning product, the dirt and debris buildup are easily removed.
Gains from a throttle body can be dependent on modifications. Generally speaking, anytime a throttle body is added, there will be some added horsepower. The amounts can range from 5-25 HP depending on what other modifications are done to the engine.
Yes, an electronic throttle control makes your car faster because it increases the sensitivity of your gas pedal by 20%. That means that you can accelerate faster and more smoothly.
Most often, over-revving occurs not because of a deliberate attempt to push a vehicle, but rather as a result of missing a gear while shifting. When a manual car accidentally downshifts, a rev limiter will not be able to react quickly enough to prevent the engine from over-revving.
Revving a car engine might sound cool, but it`s not the best idea for your car engine. It can cause additional wear and tear, car engine damage, waste gas, and isn`t good for the environment.
Most current-production tractors have the tachometer marked for the engine speed that will provide the 540-rpm or 1,000-rpm speeds for the PTO. The PTO speed is independent of the ground speed of the tractor. PTO-powered machinery needs to operate at the specified speed to operate as designed, with rare exceptions.
The hand and foot throttle are used to control the engine speed. The hand throttle should always be used when using the tractor in the field.
John Deere uses the horsepower rating standard 97/68 EC, which is widely used in Europe for various regulations. All 7030 Series Tractor 6.8L engines have a wide operating range of 1000-2100 rpm.

Poulan pro chainsaw dies out when throttle is depressed, press throttle several times and it will rev up but holding full throttle the engine will bog down. have checked air filter dissasembled carb new gas / still same
ANSWER : Carb jets are probably rusted or clogged due to ethanol gas. I recomend replacing the carb. Will take adjustment once replaced, but a $25 dollar solution is cheaper than buying a new chainsaw!

Troy bilt blower (gas) will not run on full throttle,if I have the choke on will run but as soon as I cut back on choke the machine dies.
ANSWER : I believe you need some carburetor adjustment done or you have some bad gas. The manufacturer’s school we have been to this year, told us any fuel over 30 days old is considered bad gas. And in many cases we have found that to be true with the repairs we have had to do.Good Day.

Ok, here’s my issue. I have a B&S 8hp little wonder leaf blower. I’m having trouble keeping the engine running. I can start it right up, but after a few moments running on wide open, it starts to loose power and wants to shut down. I can keep it running by messing with the choke level, but it only stays running, wont ramp up to full throttle. If I stop manipulating the choke, it’ll die. I can start it back up by putting it in full choke, but have to fool with the choke to keep it running. When I fidget with the lever, I can sometimes get it to briefly run full throttle, but it doesn’t last long before it wants to die. I have replaced fuel, fuel lines, fuel filter, cleaned the carb spotless, replaced plug. Any thoughts? I’ve read about cleaning the fuel tank cap, will try that tonight. My limited knowledge tells me I’m got a fuel delivery issue since it runs and I can keep it running, but there is an issue somewhere. Any ideas?
ANSWER : Did you run a fine wire through all the carb orifices? I use a bristle from a wire brush.
