Karcher G2400HH-R Pressure Washer

Have a thermal relief valve TPP140-14 for a Excell VR 2522 w/ a Honda GCV160 engine. Where should the valve be installed?
Experienced gardeners share their insights in answering this question :
It should be the last threaded hole right before the water enters the pump itself, on the low pressure ( inlet) side, most pumps have 2 different size holes 90 degrees from each other, commonly 1/4 and 1/8 in.

Thermal Relief Valves are a `must have` for pressure washers when the water is supplied by a garden type water hose. as well as other components of the pump start to deteriorate at 160 degrees.
A Thermal Relief Valve is designed to protect the internal seals and pistons of a high-pressure pump. Thermal Relief Valves are an inexpensive method of protecting expensive pumps and ensuring the experience you have with your pressure washer is a good one.
Thermal Relief Valve protects pressure washer pumps operating in a safe temperature range to prevent overheating. When water temperature reaches above 145º F, pump seals may fail. The thermal relief valve will open to release hot water and allow cold water to enter the pump.
Pressure relief valves are used in boilers to control pressure levels and let out any excess that occurs in the event of over-pressure. Depending on the specific type and model of boiler, they can be located either externally or inside the boiler itself.
Mount PRVs in a vertical position, which means upright and with the spindle vertical. A valve installed in any position other than vertical might not perform correctly. For flanged valves, be sure to draw the bolts down evenly. This is especially crucial for cast iron valves.
Where is it located? A water pressure regulator, if you have one, is usually located where the main water line comes into the house and after the main shut off valve. This way if you need to work on or change the water pressure regulator you can simply shut off the water main to do so.
Also known as the temperature/pressure relief valve, or the TPR valve, this valve is located near the top of the water heater. It usually features a lever you can lift up or down and has a discharge pipe that runs from the valve down to the water heater`s base.
Yes. In areas with high water pressure such as Draper – because our water comes down from the mountains – a PRV helps protect pipes, fixtures, and water-using appliances from damage or breaks. PRVs can save you money by reducing the amount of wasted water in your home.
It`s important to understand that pressure relief valves are necessary to protect your system from failure and thereby protect yourself from a devastating injury.
A thermal expansion tank is only necessary if the water heater is part of a closed system. A closed system is created when there is a check valve in the incoming water supply that prevents the expansion of heated water from flowing back into the water main.
The TPR valve is a special safety valve and it`s responsible for making sure your hot temperature-pressure relief valve water tank stays within its designed temperature and pressure limits. It`s located on top or on the side near the top of your water heater.
Thermal relief valves (also known as Pressure Relief valves) relieves the over-pressure of a liquid or gas in a piping or filter vessel system due to thermal expansion (temperature rises).

My Honda pressure washer is leaking out of the thermal relief valve and I am looking for a part,I also do not have the manual. The model number is WGC 3030 and it is 3.0 gpm 9.0HP. The number on the thermal valve is 33120004,where can I find a part?
ANSWER : Does the thermal valve just screw into the pump head, if so what size thread is it? I have 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 in stock.

Water leaking from the thermal valve???? – Northstar Pressure Washer 2800 PSI
ANSWER : Thermal relief valves sometimes just get old. You can buy them from any number of places. Here is a link to one. Here is a link to another. And another. If this helps please rate this post.

Honda GVC 160 lost pressure – noticed small black valve (back – rear) after pressure builds up , short spray then nothing – hot water comes shooting out the black valve – did something pop off?
ANSWER : The small black valve is called a thermal relief valve. If it is open you will have no pressure. If the water is getting hot enough to pop that valve, there might be internal problems with the pump.

Hi, My Dewalt 3100 pressure washer pump wash leaking water from a check valve or overflow plug Do you know whats wrong?
ANSWER : The Dewalt 3100 came with 2 different pumps. The Blue Cat pump and the oil free pump that was made by DeWalt. You may just have a bad Thermal relief Valve on the unit. You can find the parts diagram at www.allpartsinc.com

The thermal relief is spraying water, do I need a new pump or is repair possible?
ANSWER : First just try replacing the relief valve. This valve will do this if the pump overheated from being in bypass (trigger closed) to long, if it freezes or if there is a sudden large increase in pressure. If the valve did its job it will have prevented damage to the pump and replacing it is all that will be necessary to get you up and running again. If you replace it and you find you have low pressure then you will need to rebuild the pump or replace the unloader valve. Karcher 3.97M Short cycles after trigger is released.
ANSWER : Dear csdamman,
There is a valve called the spill-valve. It is often called the control valve. This valve activates the micro-switch. When the gun is released, pressure builds up and compresses this spill valve. At the same time it puts off the micro-switch. This will then stop the machine. Now when the spill valve is faulty it cannot hold compreesion under pressure so it starts de-compressing and starts the machine again. This goes on in a cycle as you explained. So you have to change the spill valve. If the spill valve that operates the micro-switch is part of the upper head,…then the whole head must be renewed. Myself I rarely service Spill Valves. The best thing is to renew it. From your explanation it seems that you did not take notice of this Spill-Valve. Infact when you mentioned Pressure Switch, I do not know if you are refering to the spill valve. If you are….then saying that the Pressure Switch moves and operates freely, does not mean that it is OK.
In certain machines in the outlet…there is a small valve, coloured black and red or green and yellow. This sometimes when faulty, it gives the fault you mentioned. Sometimes an inlet valve gives the fault you mentioned. But from my expirience it is most of the time that the Spill-Valve is the fault.

The toilet fill valve continues to run water out of the overflow tube that is connected to the valve itself. Will not shut off, even after the valve is adjusted.
ANSWER : Sounds like the valve is defective……
