How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

Most cars have an in-tank pump mounted within the fuel tank, although some have an inline pump located between the gas tank and the engine.
A simple method to check if a fuel pump is turning on is to listen for it. Open the fuel door, remove the fuel cap (if your car has one), and turn the car`s ignition to β€œOn.” Put your ear next to the fuel door and listen for a humming noise. If you don`t hear any noticeable action, the pump is likely not working.
A damaged fuel pump might make a loud, whining sound that you`ll hear from your gas tank. The pump may also make this noise if you`re low on fuel or the fuel in your tank is contaminated. The normal noise your pump makes is a low hum. Loud whining indicates there is a problem.
To confirm that your pump has failed, check the pressure in your fuel lines with a fuel pressure gauge; if it reads zero, then your pump is likely dead. You can also check your car`s fuse box; a blown fuel pump fuse is another reliable symptom of a failed pump.
The fuel pump on a riding mower is generally located near the engine, typically just below the fuel tank. It is a small, black, plastic component with an inlet and outlet line. Depending on the make and model of your mower, you may need to remove the fuel tank to access the fuel pump.
Loose, Dirty or Disconnected Spark Plug in Your Lawn Mower: Check it out, clean off debris, re-connect and tighten. Dirty Air Filter: Clean or replace. Fuel Not Reaching the Engine: Tap the side of the carburetor to help the flow of gas. If this doesn`t work, you might need a new fuel filter.
Modern tractors have an electric fuel pump on the fuel line to supply the diesel to the main injector pump. The electric fuel pump is usually positioned over one of the fuel filters, locate the bleed screw on a filter.
Feed pump:

The feed pump is attached to the injection pump and driven by its camshaft.

– Use a fuel pressure gauge: Attaching a fuel pressure gauge to the pulse hose coming out of your fuel pump will help you show if your fuel pump is putting out the right pressure. Any reading below your manufacturer`s specifications means you probably have a defective fuel pump diaphragm or check valve.

Lawn mower cranck but wont start…
ANSWER : Since you already checked for spark and air I would drain all the fuel out of it and check that fuel for water. Over time some lawn mowers end up with contaminated fuel. You can see the water sitting on the bottom of the fuel if you let it stand for a bit in a small plastic bowl.

Be sure to empty and dry out you fuel can as well. Especially if the mower stopped running right after a refuel. Which is a good sign your gas can is contaminated too.
