The safety switch on a riding mower is typically located on the steering wheel or dashboard near the operator`s seat. This is a safety feature that requires the operator to be present in order for the mower to start.
Loose, Dirty or Disconnected Spark Plug in Your Lawn Mower: Check it out, clean off debris, re-connect and tighten. Dirty Air Filter: Clean or replace. Fuel Not Reaching the Engine: Tap the side of the carburetor to help the flow of gas. If this doesn`t work, you might need a new fuel filter.
You will find it in your switchboard (usually outside a house. In a unit, it might be in your hallway, kitchen, linen cupboard or in a shared area, such as a `common property` garage or power room). Safety switches look slightly different on each switchboard but always have a `T` or `Test` button.
The neutral safety switch is located in the linkage or inside the transmission case which allows the vehicle to shift gear.

What are safety switches? Safety switches are used to open and close a circuit as a disconnecting means for service entrance or to facilitate lock-out/tag-out procedures for motors and other critical power systems equipment.
The gasoline button is the soft button (usually red or black) on the casing of the lawn mower. This pumps gasoline to the engine. Don`t press the button to often, or you`ll pump too much gasoline to the engine.
A Dirty Carburetor Can Cause a Lawnmower To Start Then Die

By far, the most common issue that causes a stalled motor is a dirty carburetor. The carburetor on your engine is the thing that draws in air and mixes it with the fuel. Contrary to what the movies might make you think, gasoline itself is not very flammable.

If your lawnmower starts up but then dies in the middle of mowing your lawn, you could have a bad spark plug. The spark plug works with the ignition coil to create a timed spark in the cylinder, causing combustion. The spark plug is really a very simple device.
