How to adjust carburetor on Poulan FL1500 blower
ANSWER : The L and H mixture screws have unorthodox heads on them, but they can be turned. You can buy a tool for the type of head they have on Ebay. I use a plastic automotive type wire terminal connector and tap it over the head of the mixture screw. The 22 gauge ring-eye type works well because it gives you something to grasp and turn the screw with. Here is the manufacturer’s tutorial on adjusting your carburetor.

Especially important after you have taken it apart and installed a new carb kit. And even if you get a new carb the initial settings are so called defaults and you should really fine tune the carb for your specific motor.

ANSWER : Check to ensure the oil opening on the side of the saw housing is not plugged as well as the matching oil groove in the guide bar first. Turn the saw upside down and see if there is a + and a – sign near the sprocket on the bottom. If so, turning towards the + increases flow. Most new small saws oilers are non-adjustable.

My Weedeater Excalibur 22 hedge trimmer will not run at full throttle unless you leave the choke lever at half choke. I have taken the carburetor apart, clean it, checked the diaphragm and all gaskets for signs of wear and put it all back together. Still no success! Could the fuel/gas mixture have any thing to do with this problem?
