25cc Gas Line Trimmer

Experienced gardeners share their insights in answering this question :
Definitely sounds like a fuel delivery issue. It may be time to install a diaghram kit or rebuild kit on the carb. The sensitive internal parts don’t last forever. You can check for flooding immediately after by pulling the plug. If it is real wet, either the plug isn’t firing to its full potential or the carb is indeed flooding. Those carb kits aren’t too hard to install and you may be able to get by with just the cheaper diaghram kit.

How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

If your trimmer engine idles, but stalls on throttle, check the following parts: the gasket, primer bulb, fuel filter, air filter, fuel vent, fuel line, and carburetor. The repair and symptom guide will help you better identify the part needed to be replaced and how.
Line wears or breaks quickly

It`s normal for the cutting line to wear down as you use it, but the trimmer line can wear faster than you expect if you`re cutting tough or thick weeds, if you`re cutting against hard surfaces such as rocks and walls, or if the line is spinning too fast.

A clogged carburetor is most commonly caused by leaving fuel in the string trimmer for a long period of time. Over time, some of the ingredients in the fuel may evaporate, leaving behind a thicker, stickier substance. This sticky fuel can clog up the carburetor and cause the engine to stall.
When your trimmer starts and runs on choke, it could be because the check valve in the gas cap is clogged. Start the trimmer and gently unscrew the gas cap halfway off. Turn the choke off and assess. If the engine is still running, that means the gas cap may be the culprit.
The “Bog” simply means the engine is not receiving enough fuel when you go to wide open throttle. While there are other issues that may cause similar reactions within the carburetor, often the problem can be traced back to the accelerator pump system. Incorrect adjustment is the typical culprit.
If your clipper blades are still pulling the hair, you will need to replace your blades or alternatively have them sharpened.
String Trimmer Line Size Means Thickness

A larger diameter line increases the power and durability of the line, which leads to less breakage and wear-out.

If your 2-stroke brushcutter fails to start, the simplest explanation is that there is not enough fuel: in this case you simply need to top it up. A 2-stroke brushcutter engine runs on fuel/oil mixture, which you can buy ready prepared, such as EFCO-Mix Alkilate alkylated mixture in a 5 L can.
Just Like Spark plug fouling, too much oil in the gasoline, inferior oil, a dirty air filter and/or continued operation at less than full throttle will plug the screen with carbon deposits. This prevents exhaust gases from flowing out, which leads to power loss or not running at all.
When the ratio of air to fuel is too high or too low, the motorcycle will die when you give it throttle. This loss of power can also be caused by a dirty air filter, worn ignition system, or clogged carburetor jets, among others.
When the throttle body is not operating effectively, one of the tell-tale signs is poor or low idling. This includes the engine stalling after coming to a stop, a very low idle after starting, or stalling when the accelerator pedal is pressed down rapidly.
When the ratio of air to fuel is too high or too low, the motorcycle will die when you give it throttle. This loss of power can also be caused by a dirty air filter, worn ignition system, or clogged carburetor jets, among others.
Fuel is introduced into the air stream through small holes (the main jets) at the narrowest part of the venturi, where the air is at its highest speed. Downstream of the venturi is a throttle (usually in the form of a butterfly valve) which is used to control the amount of air entering the carburetor.

Ok, here’s my issue. I have a B&S 8hp little wonder leaf blower. I’m having trouble keeping the engine running. I can start it right up, but after a few moments running on wide open, it starts to loose power and wants to shut down. I can keep it running by messing with the choke level, but it only stays running, wont ramp up to full throttle. If I stop manipulating the choke, it’ll die. I can start it back up by putting it in full choke, but have to fool with the choke to keep it running. When I fidget with the lever, I can sometimes get it to briefly run full throttle, but it doesn’t last long before it wants to die. I have replaced fuel, fuel lines, fuel filter, cleaned the carb spotless, replaced plug. Any thoughts? I’ve read about cleaning the fuel tank cap, will try that tonight. My limited knowledge tells me I’m got a fuel delivery issue since it runs and I can keep it running, but there is an issue somewhere. Any ideas?
ANSWER : Did you run a fine wire through all the carb orifices? I use a bristle from a wire brush.
