Chances are there is dirt or debris somewhere in the discharge line. Most likely the nozzle is plugged. RELEASE THE PRESSURE by SLOWLY opening and removing the pump. Then, unscrew the nozzle cap and check to see that it`s clear (see diagram below).
#1: Sprayer won`t build pressure: handle moves up and down too easily. Causes: The plunger has lost its seal against the wall of the pump tube either because it needs to be lubricated, the plunger is damaged, or it has come off the end of the rod completely. This typically happens as a result of overpumping.
Backpack Sprayer Lever Is Hard To “Pump”
You will need to remove the pump assembly and examine the check valves. The most common cause of plugs is chemical residue buildup inside the sprayer. Herbicides and pesticides can gum things up if not thoroughly rinsed. Clean out any gunk and rinse out the pump assembly.
If your paint gun is not spraying paint at all, it`s most likely due to a clog either in the air vent hole or the hose. Clean any dried paint with a toothpick, and use a cleaning solvent to clear any remaining gunk. If you`ve cleaned your paint gun and find that it still isn`t spraying, take a look at the air supply.
Use Warm Water
If you think your spray bottle has a clog, Poepping says to take the top off and place the tubing (with the nozzle still attached) in a cup of hot water; pump the spray top until water sprays out with ease. Once you`re satisfied with the mechanism, place the top back onto the bottle and continue using.
If no pressure is felt then the sprayer isn`t getting pressure in the first place, so the most probable cause is a faulty, missing or dry plunger O-ring or leaking non return valve. Replace or lubricate as necessary.
Instead, it`s likely your spray bottle isn`t spraying properly because the tube has disconnected from the nozzle. To check this, poepping says to push down on the sprayer. If you can press down with ease, but the product isn`t coming out, it`s likely a disconnect with the tube.
This depends mostly on the type of spray chemical you are using. Some chemicals will be fine to sit in your tank for a week while some will clog up your sprayer within 24 hours. This question will also depend on the quality of water you are using. Dirty polluted water will encourage clogging if debris is in your tank.

You can take the intake part of the pump apart and clean/lube the diaphragm of the pump. If you didn’t clean it out last time it was used there will be residual or cake built up. Make sure the down snorkel is clear and doesn’t have any contamination in the tube. Check the screen/filter also.
Sump pump hums and then kicks breaker. Will not pump. I cleaned everything, still have problem
Pump motor is jammed causing overload and resulting breaker trip. Try to turn the pump shaft by hand, it should be very easy to turn. If there’s any resistance check for blockage.
