How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

[For tough established weeds/ For best results,] add 6 fl oz (12 Tbs) per gallon of water [using the measuring cap provided]. For easy to kill weeds such as small newly emerged annual weeds (less than 3 inches), add 3 fl oz (6 Tbs) per gallon of water. [Mix only what you can use in a day.] Close cap tightly after use.
A: Roundup Weed and Grass Killer Concentrate Plus contains 18% Glyphosate.
Roundup Pro Concentrate can applied in a hand held pump sprayer at 2.4-4 fl oz per gallon of water. You will use the finished solution within 24 hrs of mxing.
For best results, add 2.5 fl. oz. of the concentrate to 1 gallon of water. Use of a Roundup brand sprayer is recommended.
Use a 1% solution ie: 1 litre/ 100 litres of water, and completely wet the foliage but do not allow to run-off. Apply only to healthy, actively growing plants with adequate leaves for herbicide uptake.
RATE: 10mL per litre of water. Apply when weeds are actively growing. Apply to ensure complete and uniform wetting of foliage. Visible symptoms may take from 3 to 7 days to develop.
When the product has been mixed with water, it remains viable for only 24 hours. We recommend using up the amount which has been mixed, even if it is over 24 hours old.
It can persist in soil for up to 6 months depending on the climate and the type of soil it is in. Glyphosate is broken down by bacteria in the soil. Glyphosate is not likely to get into groundwater because it binds tightly to soil. In one study, half the glyphosate in dead leaves broke down in 8 or 9 days.
Without these amino acids, the treated plant will die. It is absorbed through the leaves and minimally through roots.
So, a product like RoundUp Ultra that contains surfactant will be enhanced by addition of ammonium sulfate if mixed with hard water. MSU recommends adding 17 pounds of ammonium sulfate to the spray water before the glyphosate is added.
For best results, we recommend using Roundup® Weed & Grass Killer products on dry, warm, wind-free days. But if it`s about to rain, fear not — all of our products should dry and become rainfast within 30 minutes to 3 hours — some even faster. The products below have a rainfast range of 10 minutes to 3 hours.
