If the tip of the spark plug is burnt or damaged, replace the spark plug. The spark plug should be checked every 100 hours of operation or every 6 months.
The gas-engine pressure washer`s spark plug transmits an electrical signal to ignite the fuel and air in the engine`s cylinder to start powering the engine. If you have trouble starting the engine or it runs poorly then your gas-engine pressure washer`s spark plug might need to be replaced.
Clean them up in the blast cabinet if you like them pretty, but it`s not necessary. I have been reusing plug washers for years and always get a nice smooth torque when they are annealed. In fact, about the only time I don`t reuse them is when they get away and roll under the workbench with the spiders.
Don`t submerge the spark plug in water to clean it. If oil and grease are caked on the spark plug, replace them and have your engine checked; it could be blown or bent rings. Clean one spark plug at a time.
WD-40 Multi-use Product is ideal for cleaning spark plugs. Spray WD-40 Multi-use Product on a microfiber cloth and rub over the spark plug. You can even spray WD-40 directly on the spark plug & then wipe it down using a soft, clean cloth.
Champion Spark Plug (RC12YC).
Low heat range spark plugs have center electrode temperatures that rise easily and even at low-speed, they easily reach the self-cleaning temperature, so carbon is not deposited easily on the insulator section.
Similarly, you`ll want to check, clean, adjust, and replace spark plugs every 100 hours of use or once a year. Replace Air Filter Fuel Filter: Even if you do a great job cleaning your air filter, you should change it altogether every 200 hours or every 2 years.
It depends on the pressure washing equipment you purchase. New pressure washers will be rated with a number of hours they should last. For example, if it is rated 500 hours and you use it fewer than 50 hours throughout the year then it will last you more than ten years as long as you keep it well maintained.
Experts advise doing an initial oil change after the first 50 hours of pump use. After that, change the crankcase oil every 3 months or after every 500 hours of operation, whichever comes first. High pressure plunger pumps require a specially formulated oil; otherwise regular pump oil is appropriate.

SAE 30WT i.e non detergent. Change oil every 25 hours and every 4th oil change us a detergent 30 WT oil.
The manuals will never tell you that but having worked on small engines since the mid 60’s that 4th oil change with a detergent oil does a bang up job of keeping the oil ring from eventually cooking onto the piston. Also washes out the crank case and makes it look like new!
