How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

SAE 10W-30 is best for varying temperature ranges and is best for starting in cold climates. The trade off here is the potential for higher oil consumption. Synthetic oil is also an option for your riding lawn mower. SAE 5W-30 is a great all-around alternative to conventional oil.
Can You Use Synthetic Lawn Mower Oil? Yes! We have recently modified our engine oil recommendations to state that you may now use a synthetic 5W30 or 10W30 oil in all temperature ranges. We recommend the use of Briggs & Stratton Fully Synthetic Premium Long-Life Oil.
Use Briggs & Stratton SAE 30W Oil above 40°F (4°C) for all of our engines. Check oil level regularly. Air-cooled engines burn about an ounce of oil per cylinder, per hour. Fill to mark on dipstick.
10W30 is a common motor oil grade suitable for many lawn mowers. Your owner`s manual will tell you the exact grade required, but in almost all cases 10W30 is the right stuff for a four-stroke engines. Any brand of oil that`s suitable for cars or trucks will work fine in your mower.
Although SAE 30 motor oil is usually suggested for use in lawn mower engines, the safest option is to use the oil recommended by your lawn mower manufacturer. The same motor oil types used in cars, such as 10W-30 or 10W-40, can often be used in a lawn mower.

The recommended oil viscosity for your vehicle, according to Kia documentation, is 10W-40. If you drive the vehicle in exceptionally cold weather, well below 32 degrees, you can use 5W-30 oil but even 10W-40 is still perfectly OK to use if outdoor temperatures are below freezing.

Using a 40 weight engine oil instead of 30 weight isn`t going to hurt the engine. It may, however, it may affect your oil consumption. 5w-40 could be a big jump in viscosity. You want an oil that is thin enough so that the oil doesn`t cost you power yet thick enough to protect your engine.
Oil capacity is typically 15oz or 18oz*. Check oil level during the season and add when necessary. Change engine oil every 50 hours or annually, whichever comes first.
Is SAE 30 Oil The Same As 10W-30? No. Unlike SAE 30, SAE 10W-30 is multi grade oil. SAE 10W-30 has SAE 10W viscosity at a lower temperature and SAE 30 viscosity at a hotter operating temp.
Yes, it`s a great oil for small engines during the summer months. 15W40 oils tend to be very stable at high temperatures.
4-stroke and small engine oil are the same, unless you are referring to the 2-stroke oil that is usually added to the gasoline, like small snow blowers and weed wackers. The manual recommends 10w30 for all temperature ranges between 10F and 100F degrees .

While automotive engine oil, such as 10W-30 or 10W-40, can be used in a lawn mower engine, it is generally recommended that SAE 30 motor oil be used.
Yes. 5w30 and 10w30 are both 30 weight oils and the exact same thickness in your engine when it is at operating temperature.

ANSWER : Put straight 30 weight motor oil in it. Not 10W30 or any multi-viscosity oil. Straight 30 weight motor oil.
