The most common sizes of spark plug nuts and the sockets used to remove/install them are 15/16″, 13/16″ and 5/8″. These tools are available individually or in sets at most automotive parts supply, hardware and other tool supply stores.

Also, keep in mind the thread size of your spark plug threads. Spark plugs are available in two thread size options for motorcycles — 1/2 and 3/4 inches. For other vehicles, spark plug threads are also available in thread sizes like 8, 10, 12, 14, and 18 mm.
16mm = 5/8 inch. 17mm = almost 11/16 inch. 18mm = just over 11/16 inch. 19mm = 3/4 inch.
Socket set sizes
These are always given in imperial measurements, and will usually be either 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 3/4″ or 1″. The size of the socket head (the part that fits over or into a fastener). Usually, the smaller the drive socket size is, the smaller the socket head size will be, and vice versa.
The gap should be 0.027 inches (0.7mm).
The diameter of the plug is the measurement of the width of the threaded part of the plug on the widest part including the threads. The measurement may actually be a little under but is typically rounded up. In the example above the spark plug measures 13.80mm wide but is considered 14mm.

Spark Plug Sockets
Though you can technically use any socket of the right size, we recommend using the kind specifically made to pair with spark plugs. These special sockets contain rubber isolators inside intended to absorb any possible vibration within and protect the glass featured along the spark plug.
The two most common spark plug sizes in modern motorcycles and small cars are 14mm and 18mm. Some automobile manufacturers also use 16mm high-thread count spark plugs and 12mm long-reach spark plugs.

How to replace ignition coil on asthil 029
ANSWER : Coil should be held on the saw with 2 torx t27 size screws. These will resemble a star. Remove the 2 screws, lift out the coil. The small wire should be attached with a spade connector, slide the spade off with needle nose pliers. Disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug, & thread it out of the saw as you remove the coil. Assembly is reverse order of removal. For clearance, loosen coil screws, alike coil away from flywheel
