Genuine Husqvarna oil filter. Prevents dirt and debris from getting into the engine and causing damage. Replace it at regular intervals for optimal performance and longer product lifetime.
Husqvarna`s Full Synthetic 10W-30 4-Stroke engine oil is a premium oil blend designed for tough, commercial use. Ideal for tractors, commercial zero turn mowers and commercial walk behind mowers. Excellent high temperature protection, and reduced engine wear and scuffing.
There`s not usually a huge difference in quality from one brand of lawn mower oil filter to the next. Over the years I`ve used half a dozen brands, and they all work pretty much the same.
The kind of Briggs and Stratton oil filter you need depends on which small engine you have. Some oil filters, like the 429232S, are compatible with most Briggs and Stratton engines, but other engines require more specific parts.
Using the wrong oil filter can negatively impact oil pressure. The wrong filter, a filter that isn`t working properly, or a filter that gets clogged can cause oil pressure to drop. The proper oil filter, along with the pressure relief valve, will help regulate oil pressure and avoid spikes.
One overlooked aspect in lawn mower maintenance is how frequent oil changes should take place. Engine oil and oil filters should be replaced at least once every spring or summer, or every 50 hours of use – whichever comes first.
When choosing lawn mower oil, use a high-quality detergent oil classified as “For Service SF, SG, SH, SJ” or higher. Do not use special additives. Synthetic oils are an acceptable oil at all temperatures. The use of synthetic oil does not alter required oil change intervals.
Is SAE 30 Oil The Same As 10W-30? No. Unlike SAE 30, SAE 10W-30 is multi grade oil. SAE 10W-30 has SAE 10W viscosity at a lower temperature and SAE 30 viscosity at a hotter operating temp.

I have a husqvarna 137 chainsaw. The problem is with the bar oil. When the saw runs oil is flowing but where the rubber corner piece which allows the oil to flow out of appears to be just dripping the oil straight out. It looks like it should fill a small reservoir behind the metal plate and the oil then moves upwards where the chains drags the oil through the oil hole on the bar which is moving outwards as in the top chain on the bar. However the chain-brake area is just getting messy with oil splattering all over and the bar not actually getting oiled. I have fitted a new metal plate to see if the corner of the original was not sealing properly but that has not helped. The bar holes are clean. Any suggestions as I can’t see what it could be?
ANSWER : It’s the rubbers. I had the same problem with my 137 and 141. The rubbers shrink over time and the oil never makes it up the channel. The replacement part is one piece and less prone to leaking than the original 2 piece design.

Husqvarna rancher, leaks oil when saw is off. where rubber hose meets pump, seems to fit together well but still leaks out. drains full tank of oil. any fixes or better parts.
ANSWER : The hose is leaking. You will have to replace the hose. You do not have to disassemble the saw in half as many seem to think. Just some of the parts that are in the way. You can insert a wire and pull the hose out from the oil tank along with the filter. It goes in and you remove only the parts that are in the way where the hose comes out.
