For the most part, you will not need special products for cleaning paving slabs: a mild, gentle soap such as washing up liquid and water will often work just fine. Mix it for a few seconds until you see a nice foam forming on the top.
Generally you should use a detergent that is specially designed for pressure washers. And you should choose the specific detergent based on what you`re cleaning. For example, Floor Wash and Ripper II are a couple of Hotsy detergents that are highly effective for cleaning concrete.
Soapy water method. Contrary to popular belief, you don`t need any fancy products to clean a patio without a pressure washer. In fact, one of the most effective patio cleaning products is good old-fashioned washing-up liquid mixed with warm tap water.
Vinegar can be applied directly or in a 1:1 ratio with water. In the case of bicarbonate soda, dissolve 1 to 5 tablespoons in 10 litres of water, depending on the degree of soiling. The mixture must now soak in for 15 to 20 minutes. The patio is then cleaned with a scrubber and finally rinsed with clean water.

Other hard floor cleaners can be used, but we advise to test a small inconspicuous area before you begin cleaning, as we do not test other brands of detergents for proper dilution ratios and cleaning results.
Let`s make one thing clear right away though – only use pressure washer certified detergent with your equipment. These detergents are specifically made to work with pressure washers and get you the most effective, efficient cleaning solution possible.
Wash the concrete > Mix a solution of ⅓ cup powdered laundry detergent, such as Tide, per gallon of hot water; the granules will act as a mild abrasive. Working in sections, pour some solution onto the floor and scrub with a stiff bristle brush. Wait about 10 minutes for dirt to loosen, then repeat.
Pour one cup of baking soda into a plastic bowl and slowly add two cups of distilled white vinegar. Mix it slowly to create a creamy-yet-spreadable consistency, and use a sponge mop to glaze the patio. You then leave the mix to sit for half an hour before scrubbing well with a nylon-bristle brush.
Vinegar is a natural and safe alternative to cleaning concrete with harsh chemicals. In the case of algae and mold, it does a better job than bleach, and it is better in the long term for killing these infestations. Oftentimes, vinegar can be found in your home or garage.
For larger areas, family cars, a bunch of filthy bikes or a mud-spattered SUV, then you might want to up your spend and go for a K4 or K5 with the Power Control lance. For large courtyard gardens, patios, caravans and motorhomes, go for a K5 or K7 Power Control and you will have the power you need to get the job done.
Apply a Mild Dish Soap
The final step is to apply a household cleaner to treat the stain. Dish soaps are ideal for this job. While they feature surfactants that are able to remove tough grime like oil and grease, they are also safe enough to use on paving stones without compromising their integrity or appearance.
However, a common laundry item – washing powder – was a popular suggestion. Gill commented: “I sprinkle Aldi biological washing powder on my patio and driveway when we get green moss. The washing powder kills the moss. Just sprinkle, you don`t need to scrub.
Bleach is a great way to clean pavers because it is a strong disinfectant. It will kill any germs or bacteria on the surface and remove any molds, plus it will also brighten them up. It is common to mix bleach with water; however, you can also add other ingredients to make it more effective.
It is a chemical blend that removes stubborn and persistent taint from laundry. Cleaning the patio slabs with washing powder is an easy way. It seems simple, but washing powder works marvelously on a dirty patio. Moreover, the washing powder can be chosen considering the material of the patio slabs.
