This is an ongoing issue for users, and rightfully so. Small diameter line out of fuel tank (has filter in-tank on end) connects to the side of the carburetor that has the fuel pump….that is the cover without the hole in it. Other larger diameter fuel line out of tank connects to the longer nipple on the external purge/primer bulb. The bulb “pulls” fresh fuel from the fuel tank to the carb and then out of the carb to itself, where it then pushes any air/old fuel back into the fuel tank. The remaining larger diameter fuel line in this setup goes from the metering chamber (has cover with writing on it and a vent-hole) side of the carburetor to the smaller nipple on the purge/primer bulb. Years ago on 2-stroke trimmers, primers were not even used,…you choked the carb with a slide lever and gravity let fuel enter the carb from above…a few pulls, a “pop”…slide it off of choke and away you went.If the purge/primer bulb is on top of the carb…small line from carb body to small hole in tank with filter. Larger diameter line goes from the bulb on the fuel pump side of the carb to the larger hole in the fuel tank where the line is held in place with a nylon nipple connector that keeps the line from pulling out of the tank.

How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

The (clear) main fuel line with the filter (filter inside the fuel tank) goes to the bottom of the carburetor (or the elbow shaped nipple). The (clear) fuel intake line runs from the top of the carburetor (straight nipple) and goes to the short post on the back of the primer bulb.
Fuel lines are made of durable metal, plastic materials and though they are located in the undercarriage of the vehicle, and seemingly in a vulnerable position, they are placed in areas that cannot be damaged due to elements, road conditions, or exposure to heat from the engine`s exhaust or other components.
Most vehicles have rubber fuel hoses connecting the fuel pipes on the chassis to the fuel pump or carburetor on the engine. Rubber hoses are flexible and can be cut to length as required, but they have a tendency to perish over time and can rub through if not properly secured.
The fuel line typically consists of rigid metal pipes, with flexible rubber or plastic hoses running from the pipes to the tank and the fuel pump , and from the pump to the carburettor . The flexibility of the hoses allows some movement between these different components.
The (clear) fuel intake line runs from the top of the carburetor (straight nipple) and goes to the short post on the back of the primer bulb. The return line (blue) comes from the long post on the back of the primer bulb and goes into the bottom of the fuel tank.

One is the high pressure line, which sends fuel to the injectors. The other is the return line, which dumps fuel that the injectors don`t use back into the tank.
If the car is designed for right-hand traffic, the fuel cap is on the right and vice versa. The very simple reason for this is that in the event of an emergency, such as running out of fuel away from a gas station, it is safer to refuel the vehicle with a canister on the side facing away from traffic.

Replaceing fuel line in polan 3300 chain saw – Poulan Pro 42CC 2 Cycle Chainsaw, 18"
ANSWER : Hi owjbhend…
Use a piece of wire and insert it into the fuel line, then bend a hook in the end and hook it over the end of the fuel line…lubricate the fuel line with some vaseoline very lightly…about the first one inch of the fuel line and then use your fingers to start the fuel line into the tank, once you have the fuel line in the tank give enough to hook the fuel filter to and so it can be dropped back into the tank.
Below is a drawing of how to route the fuel lines.

How do the fuel lines in a weedeater trimmer pe550 hook up inside the gas tank
ANSWER : I have an older model that has a weighted filter in the tank. The filter flops around and can ‘fall’ into the fuel no matter which way you tilt the trimmer/tank. You should have one in your tank. Feed in the new line and make the end come out the gas cap. Push the filter/weight into the end of the fuel line. Pull the extra fuel line out of the tank to match the original position. You should have cut the new line to approximately the proper or same length as the old fuel line with an angle cut so you could push it into the tank.
