Both should be set at 1 and a half turns out to start. Turning the screws out will richen. Turning in will lean. If its hard to start or boggs/ dies when you throttle then its lean- turn the low out another half turn. If it revs up for a minute then slows down richen up the high. At full throttle you still want to hear a bit of a cackle- adjust the high

Replace the filter, start the saw and turn the “T” screw counterclockwise to increase the fuel mixture and the idle speed; turning the screw counterclockwise decreases both. You`ve achieved the proper fuel mixture when the engine idles smoothly but the chain doesn`t spin.
They are typically labeled L (low speed jet), H (high speed jet), and I (idler jet).
Designed for use in Poulan Pro, Poulan and Weed Eater 2-Stroke air cooled engines that require 40:1 fuel + oil mixture. This ethanol free, high octane fuel stays fresh for years solving long term storage needs.
Set idle speed adjusting screw, clockwise to increase rpm, counter-clockwise to decrease rpm. Idle rpm range should be 950 to 1050 rpms. Adjust idle mixture by turning idle mixture screw slowly clockwise until the engine runs poorly.
Turn the idle screw to adjust the idle—turn the screw to the left to increase the RPM or to the right to lower it. When you have adjusted the idle—aim for 650 RPM—reconnect the idle air adjustment valve`s electrical connection. Lower the hood and turn your car off.
Run the engine for five minutes at half throttle to bring it to its operating temperature. Then, turn the idle mixture screw slowly clockwise until the engine begins to slow. Turn the screw in the opposite direction until the engine again begins to slow. Finally, turn the screw back to the midpoint.

Weed eater will not run in high speed but will idle
ANSWER : Lack of fuel is my first thought. Check to be sure the trigger control is working at the carb. From there I would suspect plugged fuel line or plugged carb, (most likely contaminated fuel) either way I would suggest someone that knows about these. Hope this helps

CW is leaner; to lean will destroy the saw. If over tightened closed (CW) the adjustment screw faces are easily marred; marred adjustments are difficult to impossible to set properly. Clean the air filter; adjusting with a dirty filter can cause a run lean condition once cleaned and the saw run.
There are 2 wav (sound – idle & full – may not be highlighted) files that I find most helpful, I think you will too. Good Luck. HTH

Poulan pro 42 cc, no spark – Poulan Pro 42CC 2 Cycle Chainsaw, 18"
ANSWER : Try diss connecting the earth cut out wire from the ignition unit and try for a spark again, this will rule out the switch and any trapped wires, re set the air gap between the unit and the flywheel to 0.3mm, if there is still no spark the unit is bad and will require replacment, they are normally only held on with a couple of allen screws, and either bolted to the cylinder or the crankcase.

Poulan pro 25cc will start but not continue to run.
ANSWER : Is it difficult to pull? If so it could be the exhaust flame arrester has fouled with carbon. Over time it will become completely clogged and will not allow the engine to come up to speed or even start. Remove the exhaust and you will find the screen on the inlet side of the exhaust.
