Backpack Blower 25.4cc

Experienced gardeners share their insights in answering this question :
Most Ryobi products made in the past 5 years use a 50:1 fuel mix. Check the fuel cap to see if it is listed there. The older Ryobi product used a 32: 1 fuel mix ratio and it was usually listed on the sticker that shows you how to work the choke. If in doubt, go with the 32:1 ratio. The only thing it will cause is premature fouling of the spark plug. Too little oil in the mix will cause premature engine wear.

50:1 is 2.6 ounces of 2 cycle mix to each gallon (U.S.) of gasoline.
32:1 is 4.0 ounces of 2 cycle mix per gallon.

I recommend to use a 2 cycle mix that is specifically designed for lawn equipment and contains fuel stabilizer. The ones with stabilizer will usually be .5 ounces larger.

Good luck!

Engine: This blower`s engine has a displacement specification of 42cc. As you may or may not know, 2-stroke engines require a mixture of gasoline and oil in order to keep all the moving parts lubricated while fuelling the engine`s internal combustion. The fuel/oil ratio recommended by Ryobi for the RY08420A is 50:1.
What is the right gas-oil mix for leaf blower? The right gas to oil ratio will depend on your backpack leaf blower. Usually, a two-cycle engine uses a 50:1 or 40:1 2 stroke oil to gas ratio. But to know the exact measurements of the oil and gas you need to mix, it is best to go and check your owner`s manual.
Make sure you are using the correct fuel mixture with your chainsaw. Ryobi chainsaws run off a 50:1 ratio, this means 50 parts unleaded fuel to 1 part 2-stroke oil.
That first number is the amount of fuel, the second part the two stroke oil. Most power tools work on a ratio of 25/1, so that means you need to mix 25 parts fuel to 1 part two stroke oil. Once done so you then pour that mix into the fuel tank of the unit.
Oil mix ratios explained

If your manufacturer recommends a 50:1 fuel/oil mix, it means you need 50 parts of gas to one part two-stroke oil. To mix one gallon of fuel at 50:1, add 2.6 ounces of two-stroke oil to one gallon of gas, as shown in the chart below.

Fuel Mix. According to Stihl, gas and oil for leaf blowers should be mixed at a ratio of 50 parts gas to 1 part oil. This amounts to about 2.6 ounces of oil to each gallon of gas.
Can you use 50 1 in a leaf blower? A: Yes, simply pour it into the gas tanks of 2 cycle engines. I use it in a chainsaw, blower, and weed wacker.
50:1 (2%) fuel / oil mix ratio is recommended with the use of genuine Husqvarna two-stroke oil for best performance.
The stoichiometric mixture for a gasoline engine is the ideal ratio of air to fuel that burns all fuel with no excess air. For gasoline fuel, the stoichiometric air–fuel mixture is about 14.7:1 i.e. for every one gram of fuel, 14.7 grams of air are required.
Per the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the specific ratio – the ratio of the discharge pressure over the suction pressure – is used for defining fans, blowers and compressors. Fans have a specific ratio of up to 1.11, blowers from 1.11 to 1.20 and compressors have more than 1.20.
Most STIHL gasoline-powered equipment runs on a 50:1 mixture of gasoline and 2-cycle engine oil.
50:1 (2%) fuel / oil mix ratio is recommended with the use of genuine Husqvarna two-stroke oil for best performance.
