1:25 = 1 part oil + 25 parts petrol, or 40 ml oil per litre of petrol when using other brands of oil.
Always use quality two-stroke engine oil complying with the TC classification. It is best to use STIHL two-stroke engine oil which is specially formulated for STIHL engines and helps to prolong engine life.
Only from STIHL – This patented 50:1 fuel mixture combines non-ethanol, high-octane fuel and premium STIHL HP Ultra Oil.
For a mixing ratio of 1 : 50 you need 5 litres of high-octane gas and 0.10 litres (100 ml) of STIHL two-stroke oil.
Use a 40:1 two-cycle oil mix ratio. One gallon of gasoline combined with 3.2 oz of two-cycle engine oil. Unsure of the age of your equipment?
For a 50:1 ratio of gas to oil, use 2.6 fluid ounces of oil per gallon of gas. For a 40:1 mixture, use 3.2 fluid ounces of oil per gallon of gas.

16″ Electric Chain Saw: what kind of oil is used for electric chain saw…
ANSWER : I assume you are asking about the oil for the chain. Any good quality “Bar and Chain Oil” will do fine. Do not use motor oil you use in your car engine as it will not properly lube the chain and will result in quicker dulling and early demise of the chain.
You can get the “Bar and Chain Oil” at most hardware stores or Farm Supply stores.

What type of oil do I use for pole saw? – Remington Polesaw Wizard
ANSWER : Use bar and chain oil (bar oil is SAE 30 with an addative to make stick to the bar and chain) available at home centers and hardwares. Excerpt from a Remington OM follows:
“FILLING OIL TANK
1. Remove oil cap.
2. Fill oil tank with SAE #30 motor oil.
Note: For temperatures below 30°F, use SAE #10 oil.
For temperatures above 75°F, use SAE #40 oil.
3. Replace oil cap at once. Tighten oil cap firmly for good seal. This will avoid oil seepage from tank.
4. Wipe off excess oil.
Note: It is normal for oil to seep when saw is not in use. Empty oil tank after each use to prevent seepage.”

My 18 Inch chain saw will not keep oiling the Chain, I had it worked on and He said it was plugged. How do you unplug it with out taking it all apart. Is there a spot to blow air through. the Preacher..
ANSWER : Remove the chain bar and look just below the bolts holding it in place. You’ll see a small hole where the chain bar oil pump pushes out oil. Make sure this hole is clear then run the saw without the bar on.
Be CAREFUL of fingers!
You should see oil coming out of that hole. If not, you may need more serious work done with the saw (chain bar pump replacement).
