Yes. Snow blowers, like cars, are 4-cycle engines, so they use the same type of motor oil. Make sure to use a motor oil weight with a low-temperature viscosity rating, such as 5W-30.
Only use high-grade oil intended for use in two-cycle air-cooled engines. A high-grade premium gasoline will burn cleaner in the engines, leaving less carbon buildup in the cylinder, exhaust port and muffler. A fuel grade of 89 octane and higher is recommended.
Oil mix ratios explained
If your manufacturer recommends a 50:1 fuel/oil mix, it means you need 50 parts of gas to one part two-stroke oil. To mix one gallon of fuel at 50:1, add 2.6 ounces of two-stroke oil to one gallon of gas, as shown in the chart below.
You want to mix 2.6 ounces of oil to one gallon of gasoline for a 50:1 mixture. If you`re mixing up two gallons of gasoline you will have to mix 5.2 ounces of oil to two gallons of gasoline for a 50:1 mixture. I would recommend using fresh gasoline that has an octane rating of 89.
Fuel Mix. According to Stihl, gas and oil for leaf blowers should be mixed at a ratio of 50 parts gas to 1 part oil. This amounts to about 2.6 ounces of oil to each gallon of gas.

Some cars that need premium only need 91 octane, and others may require 93 octane. If the owner`s manual indicates premium gas is recommended, you can typically operate the vehicle safely on regular gas.
If you put lower-octane fuel into your high-octane vehicle, whether by mistake or to save money on gas, you`ll probably notice the effects right away: things like poor fuel economy, reduced acceleration, and spark knock, which sounds like a high-pitched pinging or rattling noise.
Use a 40:1 two-cycle oil mix ratio. One gallon of gasoline combined with 3.2 oz of two-cycle engine oil. Unsure of the age of your equipment? Use the 40:1 mixture.
Modern Snow Blowers Don`t Use Mixed Gas
Most modern blowers are four-cycle engines and do not require mixed gas. They do however require engine oil, and that oil needs to be changed once per season and checked regularly.

ANSWER : First check shear pins in the auger ( try to turn big auger by hand, engine off)
then if they are good then try to turn impeller by hand, engine off
youll need to turn it a few times before the larger ones turn, but thats what you want

Snow blower threw oil everywhere and will not move. Engine starts but does not move forward.
ANSWER : The gearbox for the drive has sheared a tooth off the gear to make it leak and not propel the wheels. it has cut into the seal making it leak

How do you put it in neutral
ANSWER : Does it have steering control triggers to turn it left or right…if so hold both at the same time with engine off and see if you can push it..Let me know if that works. Or let me know what kind of controls you have

Electric Maztang mt 968 auger wont run – Yard Machines 28" Two-Stage Snowthrower
ANSWER : The motor runs but the auger does not , if so the bolt snapped in half from hitting something that you should have not hit , this is a normal thing so as to not blow up the engine , it is a safety feature in all snow blowers , just get the right bolt or make one grind it down to where it will break easy but will work the auger , they sell them on ebay for a couple bucks but I make mine

My echo pb1000 gas blower wants to stall at high speeds, run fine otherwise, could it need a carb kit or maybe a fuel filter?
ANSWER : Yes it could need both of them plus some fresh gas mixture to boot. I would start with the fuel filter and then go to the carburetor.HTHGood Day.
