How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

Crude oil and natural gas naturally enter the ocean at areas known as “seeps.” These hydrocarbons leak out of the ground through fractures and sediments, in the same way freshwater springs bring water to the surface.
Cracked Gasket: The Core Culprit in Most Engine Oil Leaks

More often than not, a sudden oil leak after oil change is caused by a malformed or cracked gasket. Gaskets are usually made of urethane or rubber, and they can harden over time.

Constant exposure to high temperatures, high pressures, vibrations and contact with hot fluids over a period of time will cause even the best gasket or seal to develop leaks. Except for very rare cases of catastrophic failure, gasket leaks start out as small drips that you may first notice as spots under your car.
Use a flashlight to check underneath your car and around your engine – telltale drips might lead you right to the problem. There are several common locations for oil leaks in your car, including: At your oil pan gasket. At your oil filter or drain plug.
Natural seeps release oil slowly over time, allowing ecosystems to adapt, whereas oil spills from human activities like commercial oil transport can quickly release oil in quantities that overwhelm an ecosystem.
Engine oil leaks are one of the most common causes of engine damage. They cause rapid deterioration of the engine and result in expensive repairs. Worse yet, engine oil leaks pose a safety threat. They may lead to the loss of control of the vehicle while driving.
Even if your oil leak starts out small and isn`t serious enough to cause engine damage, an oil leak will always get worse over time – it never gets better.
An oil leak repair cost may be around $300 to $500, including the labor charge if you need to replace only the valve cover gasket. If you have to replace the entire valve cover unit, including the gasket, the cost can be up to $1,000 or more depending on the brand and model of your car.
If you overfill your car engine with oil, your car may experience these problems: Pressure on crankshaft; proper pressure on crankshaft will prevent leaking. But excess oil in the engine will cause excessive pressure in the crankshaft component, which will cause leak.
Plant life: Oil in soil can kill nearby plants and grass and prevent the growth of new vegetation. It can also kill trees by contaminating their roots. Animals and pets: Local wildlife and pets may drink groundwater contaminated with oil.
“Crude is different colors when it first comes out of the ground,” George Brackett, a member of a Bakken oil and gas Facebook discussion group, wrote on Facebook. “Bakken crude is a green color.” Lighter, or less-dense, crude tends to be more greenish-brown, another member wrote.
