It`s highly recommended a fuel to oil ratio of 50:1 for most 2-stroke engines. This means that for every 50 parts of fuel, there should 1 part of oil.
For example to mix 50:1 you use 50 parts fuel to 1 part oil, which equals one litre of fuel to 20 millilitres of oil.
The 50+1 rule guards against this. The name of the rule refers to the need for members of a club to hold 50 percent, plus one more vote, of voting rights – i.e. a majority. In short, it means that clubs – and, by extension, the fans – have the ultimate say in how they are run, not an outside influence or investor.
Ratios compare two numbers, usually by dividing them. If you are comparing one data point (A) to another data point (B), your formula would be A/B. This means you are dividing information A by information B. For example, if A is five and B is 10, your ratio will be 5/10.

Mix at 50:1 (20mls oil per 1 litre fuel) when you`re using STIHL 2-Stroke oil. To prolong the life of your 2-Stroke fuel mix you can add STIHL fuel stabiliser to extend the fuel`s shelf life up to 12 months. 15ml of STIHL fuel stabiliser will treat 5 litres of fuel.
Any mixture greater than 14.7:1 is considered a lean mixture; any less than 14.7:1 is a rich mixture – given perfect (ideal) “test” fuel (gasoline consisting of solely n-heptane and iso-octane).
100:1 – Mix 50ml of oil per 5ltrs of fuel.

Recommended by Yamaha and Suzuki for most of their small two stroke engines up to about 30hp, this ratio requires the least amount of TCW3 two stroke oil. The result of using this ratio (less oil) is reduced spark plug fouling and less smoke.

For a mixing ratio of 1 : 50 you need 5 litres of petrol and 0.10 litres (100cm³) of STIHL two-stroke oil.
For a 50:1 ratio of gas to oil, use 2.6 fluid ounces of oil per gallon of gas.
For a mixing ratio of 1 : 50 you need 5 litres of petrol and 0.10 litres (100cm³) of STIHL two-stroke oil.

This equals 25mls of two stroke oil to 1 litre of petrol. It is pretty easy to calculate, you just multiply the litre amount by 25.
