Hi, re your problem, in most cases oil in a cooling circuit is a sign that your head gasket is damaged or worse case senario that the head is cracked. Take off the radiator cap and turn over the engine and see if you get any water coming out of the top of the rad. Hope this helps

How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

If there is oil in your coolant or vice versa, it generally means there is a failure in one or more of your engine`s gaskets or seals. Your engine is designed so that there is one system that controls engine oil to lubricate your vehicle and another that manages coolant to keep your car from overheating.
The reason no coolant is in the oil is because it is a high pressure leak, oil pressure is always higher than coolant pressure when running, so if the leak only happens at 20-25psi or above, coolant will never get into the oil. Other than that it could be a head gasket as suggested but is rare.
When a head gasket fails, oil can leak into the cooling passages and then end up in the coolant. This results in the brown sludge that can be seen in the top of the radiator, and the coolant reservoir. Coolant can also leak into the combustion chamber. This will result in a white cloud of sweet-smelling exhaust.
Milky, frothy oil on the dipstick could mean you have coolant leaking into your oil pan, but doesn`t necessarily mean a bad head gasket. This symptom is too often mis-diagnosed as a bad head gasket with unneeded repairs performed. There are many other things that can also cause this and it is rarely a headgasket.
When the water pump fails, it can cause coolant to leak into the oil, which can lead to engine problems. If you notice this happening, it`s important to take your vehicle to a mechanic as soon as possible.
Oil and coolant leaks are common issues on many vehicles. Just because you see a leak doesn`t mean you have a blown head gasket. If you see the majority of the oil or coolant seeping out from the engine block though, it could be an indication that the head gasket is no longer maintaining a seal.
A brand-new water pump may leak from the weep hole for around 10 minutes. After this break-in period, the seals should prevent any further leakage. If either coolant or oil comes out of the weep hole, one of the seals has failed. In virtually all cases, this requires that you install a new water pump.
Additionally, the physical properties of oil cause it to separate and float on top of water/coolant, so it`s easiest to deal with if you catch the mistake very early.

Oil leaking out on yardman mower – Yard Man YardMan 11A41K3001 21Inch 173cc Kohler OHV Gas Powered BagMulchSide Discharge Lawn Mower (NonCARB Compliant) ()
ANSWER : You haven’t supplied a lot of information but generally when this happens it is due t the mower being tipped the wrong way.
If you must look under the mower then tip it back with the handles to the ground and front wheel in the air.
Now to rectify your problem; The air-filter will probably be saturated with oil. It will probably be the cartridge type which is not serviceable. Purchase a new filter (take your old filter so the sale person can compare like for like). Before you refit the new filter, take out the sparkplug, it will probably be saturated in oil – wash it in petrol, let it dry then refit it. The engine should start and belch out great quantities of smoke. Don’t be alarmed this will burn away. Once the smoke has cleared, check the oil level, fit the air filter and mow your lawn.

I have a husqvarna 137 chainsaw. The problem is with the bar oil. When the saw runs oil is flowing but where the rubber corner piece which allows the oil to flow out of appears to be just dripping the oil straight out. It looks like it should fill a small reservoir behind the metal plate and the oil then moves upwards where the chains drags the oil through the oil hole on the bar which is moving outwards as in the top chain on the bar. However the chain-brake area is just getting messy with oil splattering all over and the bar not actually getting oiled. I have fitted a new metal plate to see if the corner of the original was not sealing properly but that has not helped. The bar holes are clean. Any suggestions as I can’t see what it could be?
ANSWER : It’s the rubbers. I had the same problem with my 137 and 141. The rubbers shrink over time and the oil never makes it up the channel. The replacement part is one piece and less prone to leaking than the original 2 piece design.

ANSWER : Put straight 30 weight motor oil in it. Not 10W30 or any multi-viscosity oil. Straight 30 weight motor oil. If you’re doing a complete oil change, then you may want to use Synthetic 30 weight, which will last longer between oil changes and also make your engine last longer (but it costs more too). ANSWER : Sounds like your oil pump replacement was left too late.sounds like a worn engine due to oil starvation with the previous low oil pressure and sludge problem.to verify the oil pressure you need to fit an oil pressure guage. to make sure it isnt just a faulty oil pressure switch. The specifications of the oil pressure for your vehicle will be in the haynes/bentley repair manual or find it online.Do you have the corect grade of oil in it?
