Help protect your 2-Cycle gas outdoor power equipment with the Homelite 2-Cycle oil. This oil is a 50:1 gas-to-oil ratio.
This machine is shipped without oil: therefore, you MUST fill the engine with oil before starting the engine. Failure to do so will result in engine damage which will not be covered by warranty. Fill with a 40:1 ratio of semi-synthetic 2 stroke oil and fresh unleaded petrol.
The recommended 50-to-1 fuel mixture includes 2.6 ounces of a high-quality, two-cycle oil with added fuel stabilizers and 1 gallon of unleaded 87-octane gas. Homelite recommends using their brand of oils, specifically designed to work in any model with a 50-to-1 fuel ratio.
The stoichiometric mixture for a gasoline engine is the ideal ratio of air to fuel that burns all fuel with no excess air. For gasoline fuel, the stoichiometric air–fuel mixture is about 14.7:1 i.e. for every one gram of fuel, 14.7 grams of air are required.

What is the right gas-oil mix for leaf blower? The right gas to oil ratio will depend on your backpack leaf blower. Usually, a two-cycle engine uses a 50:1 or 40:1 2 stroke oil to gas ratio. But to know the exact measurements of the oil and gas you need to mix, it is best to go and check your owner`s manual.

The trimmer requires premixing gasoline and 2-cycle oil in a 50:1 ratio. While any automotive gasoline is appropriate to use, an unleaded gasoline without alcohol may produce the best results. Homelite recommends operators use Homelite 2-cycle oil.
Add 2.6 ounces of 50-to-1 ratio 2-cycle engine oil to a fuel container. Add 1 gallon of gasoline to the container, place the top on the container and shake to mix. Pour the mix into the fuel tank on the trimmer.
If the proper precautions are taken, however, gasoline containing a 10% quantity of ethanol can safely be used in your STIHL products. Use a minimum of 89 octane gasoline and always use fresh fuel. Only buy enough gasoline that you can easily use up within a two- month period.
The Homelite BP250 back pac blower has a foam air filter. It uses a mix of engine oil and gasoline (50:1 ratio) for fuel. The exact mix is 2.6 oz. of two-cycle engine oil per one gallon of gasoline.
