To measure the width, a measuring tape can be used to measure the length of the belt from one side to the other. The thickness of the belt is typically measured with a caliper or micrometer. Once the length, width and thickness are determined, the correct size belt can be purchased to fit the lawn mower.

The top belt is the power clutch belt, also known as the PTO (power takeoff) belt. This is the easier one to replace because it`s on top and has a spring-loaded hand lever to remove the belt from the lawn mower for deck removal. The lower belt on the deck is called the arbor belt.
Take your existing pants size and then add two inches to the number. For instance, if your pants waist size is 38, then your belt size would be 40. You can also find your belt size by measuring a belt you already own that fits well.
The rule of thumb is to add 1½ to 2 inches to the inside circumference measurement. Our setup demanded a belt between 57½ and 58 inches in length.
A: Your mower has two belts. Both play a role in making the blades turn. The “Deck Belt” goes around the pulleys right above the blades on the deck and then to a double pulley. The “Drive Belt” on your mower goes from the transmission, around an Idler pulley then over to the double pulley I mentioned before.
There are two belts you need to be familiar with when talking about car maintenance — the serpentine belt and the timing belt.
The deck belt is the one that powers the blades and the drive belt powers the tractor`s motion. The deck belt comes with the deck when you remove the deck but the drive belt remains with the tractor.
Measurements First
But unlike a pair of pants, you shouldn`t buy the width that corresponds to the wearer`s waist measurement. Be sure to buy a belt size that is at least two inches greater. For instance, if you typically wear size 32 pants, you should purchase a size 34 belt.
Small sizes measure between 26 to 30 inches, while large sizes are around 46 to 50 inches. Belts for men who wear a 34 measure 34 inches from the far end (all fashion rights reserved). Avoid generalizing belt measurements as these vary considerably.
Belt Size = Men`s Pant Size + 2 inches
If your pants size is a 34, buy a belt size 36; if your pants size is a 36, buy a belt size 38, etc. The reason you buy a belt size up from your pants size is to give yourself a few inches of room in case your body size ever changes.
Because vacuum manufacturers do not share a standardized naming system for vacuum belts, using your vacuum`s model number is the best way to ensure an accurate belt order.

Lawn mower cranck but wont start…
ANSWER : Since you already checked for spark and air I would drain all the fuel out of it and check that fuel for water. Over time some lawn mowers end up with contaminated fuel. You can see the water sitting on the bottom of the fuel if you let it stand for a bit in a small plastic bowl.
Be sure to empty and dry out you fuel can as well. Especially if the mower stopped running right after a refuel. Which is a good sign your gas can is contaminated too.
