The most common problem with a strimmer not starting is that there`s a problem with the fuel mix. Double check that you`ve used 40 parts fresh unleaded petrol to 1 part 2-stroke oil (40:1). Check the petrol you`ve used isn`t stale.
If an electric yard trimmer doesn`t operate, make sure power is on at the electrical receptacle, and test the electrical cord, switch, and motor. If an electric yard trimmer lacks power or overheats, make sure you are using an outdoor extension with the proper capacity for the trimmer (check your owner`s manual).
Turn on the ignition switch and pull the starting cord quickly. You should see a spark in the plug gap. Since the spark may be faint, it may help to do the test in a dark area. If there is no spark, check for a broken or shorted (bare) lead wire or bad switch.

My weed eater hedge trimmer runs for about 10 minutes and cuts off. It seems as though it is flooded, because it won’t start again until some time later. But it continues with the same pattern. I purchased a can of premixed gas/oil to make sure it was my mixture, to no avail. I have not replaced the spark plug yet, but I don’t think that has anything to do with it. Do you have any suggestions?

From your Description it Sounds like the Shaft May have Slipped Out of the Power Head and the Drive Cable is Not Engaged to the Drive, the Clutch is Worn Out, the Drive Cable is Worn and Requires Replacing, the Trimmer Head has Slipped and is Not Engaged to the Drive Cable or the Trimmer Head Gearbox is Bad and Requires Replacing.

Weed eater won’t run
ANSWER : Sounds like you may just have a dirty carburetor.Youwill need to disassemble the carburetor and spray with carb.cleaner.Make sure the small screen is free of debris. (Should be able to seedaylight through it.)Use a Den Tek Brush, (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152),to clean the small portals in carb. These portals can become blocked. Reassemble and start.If the carb. parts are more than 4 years old, you may have to replace them.If you need further assistance, just let me know.Jim

Starts right up on choke. then run inrun position for a minute and have to go back to choke to keep it running ,then it runs fine for a couple of minutes and have to go back to choke and start all over again.

My new blower just won
ANSWER : When did you purchase it? If it is under a certain number of days, you may be able to return it. Other wise you will have to find a warranty repair center for that blower and get them to look at it under warranty. Make sure you have a copy of your receipt when you take it in to the shop. ** But make sure the shop does not get a diagnostic fee or handling fee because they are getting paid by the warranty company.** You should not have to pay a dime if it is under warranty.Good Day.
