Starts right up on choke. then run inrun position for a minute and have to go back to choke to keep it running ,then it runs fine for a couple of minutes and have to go back to choke and start all over again.
ANSWER : This happens with the cover off, so not the filter.

I just bought a Weed Eater 22″ gas push mower. Do I mix oil with the gas to run, as I do not see an oil input? p.s. I purchased this at a yard sale.
ANSWER : If it has a dipstick or plug to check the oil in the engine you do NOT mix gas and oil.
Use regular unleaded gas only and use 30 weight detergent oil in the engine crankcase if it is low.
Weed eater will start but the head will not rotate. its like some thing is not connected.

From your Description it Sounds like the Shaft May have Slipped Out of the Power Head and the Drive Cable is Not Engaged to the Drive, the Clutch is Worn Out, the Drive Cable is Worn and Requires Replacing, the Trimmer Head has Slipped and is Not Engaged to the Drive Cable or the Trimmer Head Gearbox is Bad and Requires Replacing.

I have a echo weed eater that will crank with chock on and run 2 or 3 secounds then cut off.if i take the chock off it just cranks and cuts off ..
ANSWER : Sounds like the prime bulb or the lines have a crack in them. Hope this helps Tim
Manual I have a Poulon Weed Eater Model FLSST25 (featherlite 17 inch 2 cycle gas powered straight shaft string trimmer and I need a manual for it……..what is the gas to oil ration?
ANSWER : Typically 32:1 to 40:1 for all these models. Use 35:1 and modern 2 cycle oil and you will be fine. 🙂
My weed eater hedge trimmer runs for about 10 minutes and cuts off. It seems as though it is flooded, because it won’t start again until some time later. But it continues with the same pattern. I purchased a can of premixed gas/oil to make sure it was my mixture, to no avail. I have not replaced the spark plug yet, but I don’t think that has anything to do with it. Do you have any suggestions?
ANSWER : The plug can be the problem but also the air mix as well get the best plug you can
