STIHL TIP: Soak your trimmer line in water for 24 hours before re-spooling your trimmer to keep it flexible!
Twitter header dimensions should be 1500 x 1500 pixels. Leave enough space at the bottom left for your profile picture, which is 400 x 400 pixels, and keep in mind that part of your photo is usually cropped to fit the banner.
Fixed head systems use individual lengths of line that are loaded or threaded into the trimmer one at a time as needed. This avoids some of the hassles of winding line onto trimmer heads and makes the overall process of dealing with trimmer line less cumbersome.
Most styles and weights are interchangeable, so you can use non-OEM (original equipment manufacturers) line. However, larger/heavier line may not fit every string trimmer.
Most string trimmers have a cutting diameter of 10-15 inches, meaning that the optimal line length will be about half of that, minus the central part of the trimmer head. Most guards are equipped with a discreetly placed blade that cuts off the excess and prevents the line from getting too long.
String trimmers may not cut for numerous reasons, most commonly including a worn-out line and a defective slow-spinning trimmer head. Sometimes, the trimmer line may be too long or too short, preventing the machine from working properly.
If the spool and line on your grass trimmer are fine but your trimmer still isn`t cutting properly, you`ll need to check if the blade on the trimmer`s guard is dull, broken or has come away.
Worn clutch – Since the string trimmer clutch engages with one or more drive shafts attached to the trimmer head to rotate the head when the throttle trigger is depressed, a worn-out clutch may prevent the trimmer head from spinning. A new clutch assembly is relatively inexpensive and easy to install.
