How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?
We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :
The main reason which may cause the pressure washer to leak from the inside is if the cylinder head – either cracked or failed. This is often caused by the pressure washer being stored in an area that can freeze during winter.
The majority of leaking quick-connect fitting leaks are caused by a damaged O-ring, improper installation, eroded tubing, or too much torque placed on the tubing. Quick-connect fittings have a simple but powerful design.
If your power washer leaks water from the connection between the hose and inlet, the seal and possibly the coupling on the inlet are likely broken and will need to be replaced. This seal and coupling should be fairly easy to remove and replace.
A pump leaking water indicates that there is something wrong such as bad water seals/packings or a broken ceramic plunger, or something minor like a leak o-ring. Any of these problems can be minor at first, but prolonged neglect can lead to bigger problems.
Cracked water supply fill hoses are one of the most common causes of washing machine leaks. Hot and cold water fill hoses carry water from the water supply faucets to the water inlet connections on the back panel of the washer. These water hoses don`t last forever.
If air bubbles form, this is a sign of a defective valve, which can be corrected by either cleaning and replacing worn parts or by replacing the unit. Dirt, worn diaphragm, or a worn seat causes leakage.

I have a karcher 2.o1 pressure washer does not work when i turn the water on, if i turn the water off it works, cant figure it help , help please
ANSWER : Please try without the high pressure lance on. If this works then you may have a blocked jet in the lance.
I have had 3 Karcher pressure washers all experience the same problem and so have two of my neighbors. Our area has very hard water and it causes problems with the washer not bringing up the pressure when the trigger is pulled (or surges up and down) and the nozzles clogging, etc. The service repair facilities cannot tell me how to prevent this. Many attempts to contact Karcher for advice have been ignored. I have been thinking that perhaps running the engine for a few seconds with no hoses attached and shooting WD-40 as a water displacer into the hose inlet might work. Do you have any recommendations or suggestions? My most recent purchase of a Honda pressure washer lasted only two uses and the pump froze up.
ANSWER : If your water is that hard (and it appears it is) WD40 will NOT solve the problem. You should look into a water softener. However, chances are that a small, inexpensive model will not have the flow capacity required for a pressure washer. You’ll likely need to look at a larger, whole-house model.
Use vinegar to through the machine’s “soap” dispenser to break up the hard water deposits or a heavier solvent such as CLR which is available at most retail outlets.
Karcher 4.91 checked fuse that is ok but no power
ANSWER : Check and see if you are getting power to the on/off swith. These switches have been known to go bad. Also, check the Ground fault breaker in the plug. Let me know how you make out.
No pressure Pump reassembly. I purchased a new pump and installed it. Got machine back together and I’m not getting any pressure. What would be the signs if I don’t have the shaft key in properly? Or any other suggestions?
Water comes out of nozzle with pressure for a quick second then no pressure, just water. This is a brand new pump so was curious if I installed it wrong. Wondering before taking it apart again.
ANSWER : No pressure would be a sign that the key was not in properly.
Water is leaking from the bottom of washer mower is running and some water is coming out
ANSWER : Ive seen this before, lots of people dont clean out there power washers when not in use, hard water build up is a big problem in these units witch cause the pump not to surge correctly, you should get it serviced, thankx
I have Karcher 520m and when you press the trigger you can hear what sounds like a relay engaging but there is no water pressure, then it will fire up and work, but next time you press the trigger the same thing happens, I have been using it on harvested water, but even connected to the mains it does the same thing. Its now got to the stage it doesnt want to work at all.
ANSWER : The issue you are having is with the unloader valve in the pump. Now with the 520m it is a little bit harder to repair than with more gasoline powered pressure washers but it can still be done. It would be easier if I could just send you a email of the breakdown on the machine. Send me a email to just
[email protected] with the discription of the problem you are having.
My Karcher (K2.26M) pressure washer is leaking water from the ON/OFF switch and the bottom. Does anyone know what could have broken, and what part I would need to fix it?
