My son ran regular gas through my weedeater. how do I unseize it?
Experienced gardeners share their insights in answering this question :
Even if you are able to “unseize” it, it may not run afterwards. The reason you NEED to add oil to the gasoline is because that is the only lubrication the engine gets! You can try to unseize it by removing all of the remaining gasoline from it and putting in ONLY some 2 cycle engine oil. Then you will need to attempt to turn the engine shaft back and forth using the weedeater feed spool as a lever handle. IF, and I say if it breaks loose you may not have sustained alot of damage. If it doesn’t…
How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

As the others said, you will seize the motor up, assuming it`s a 2 cycle weed eater. Although, some newer models are actually 4 cycle (where you put oil in the engine and regular gasoline in the fuel tank). The cordless battery powered units are also getting to be pretty good if you want to get away from gas.
If your trimmer engine idles, but stalls on throttle, check the following parts: the gasket, primer bulb, fuel filter, air filter, fuel vent, fuel line, and carburetor. The repair and symptom guide will help you better identify the part needed to be replaced and how.
Remove the air filter and spray carburetor cleaner into the intake. Let it sit for several minutes to help loosen and dissolve varnish. Replace the filter and try starting the trimmer. If this doesn`t solve the problem, consider disassembling the carburetor to give it a more thorough cleaning.
Turn the bolt in a clockwise direction to free the engine. If you cannot get the engine to turn, apply penetrating oil to the walls of each cylinder through the spark plug wells. Give the oil a couple of hours to work its way past the piston rings and try again.
But running a two-cycle engine with too little oil can actually destroy the unit. Oil helps cool the piston and cylinder by keeping them evenly lubricated. Without lubrication, the metals can melt and potentially grate against each other, transferring metal to and from one another and permanently distorting them.
Gasoline that is 89 octane or higher is specifically recommended in engines that are two stroke and air cooled. Gasoline may contain a MAXIMUM of 10% Ethanol. Two stroke air cooled engines are approved to use a 87 octane rated clean gasoline in emergency situations.
Take an old toothbrush and give the outside a scrub while it`s still wet and it should clean up almost like a new motor. Hope this helps. A mixture of 50% auto trans oil and acetone is an excellent penetrant. The best penetrating oil documented 50/50 ATF/acetone.
Yes, the engine should be off when the WD is sprayed. WD40 is a water dispersant and will help an engine with a damp ignition system start.
If the engine is not revving up and cuts out before you reach higher revs then you need to do the following checks: Fuel: Make sure it is fresh and correctly mixed (see `Starting Issues`). Air filter: Make sure it is clean and unclogged. Fuel cap: Make sure it`s hand-tight.

Simply remove the spark plug pour a little oil in through the spark plug hole could be regular motor oil or a little 2-stroke gas mix oil on top of the piston and it will help free it up.

How do the fuel lines in a weedeater trimmer pe550 hook up inside the gas tank
ANSWER : I have an older model that has a weighted filter in the tank. The filter flops around and can ‘fall’ into the fuel no matter which way you tilt the trimmer/tank. You should have one in your tank. Feed in the new line and make the end come out the gas cap. Push the filter/weight into the end of the fuel line. Pull the extra fuel line out of the tank to match the original position. You should have cut the new line to approximately the proper or same length as the old fuel line with an angle cut so you could push it into the tank.

I just put new fuel line on my trimmer now i cant start it not getting fuel the line never fills with fuel but i can **** fuel out so i know it not pinched it a weedeater brand ght-17
ANSWER : Make sure the little valve under the tank if you have one is fully turned clockwise. Make sure there is nothing clogging the tiny screen inside the fuel tank. Check or test your primer bulb it may be leaky. If carb or intake is leaking, you won’t get gas either. If you have a filter on this model, try changing it.
Just bought a used leaf blower, homelite, gas leaks out of the gas tank, where the gas tube fits into it.
ANSWER : “top of the gas tank where the gas tube fits into the tank”
I assume you’re describing the gas tank cap. if so, the o-ring is missing from the gas tank cap. You can find those at hardware stores.
