Mower timing off symptoms can include hard starting, misfiring, poor performance, and excessive smoke. If the timing is off, the spark plugs will fire at the wrong time and the engine will not be able to draw the correct amount of fuel. This can cause the engine to run rough or stall out.
Timing in the Camshaft. Rotate the crankshaft clockwise to 90 degrees after TDC. This will make sure all the pistons are half way down the bore. Now position the dial gauge so that it can read the lift of the inlet valve of number 1 cylinder from the top of the valve retainer (see left).
The timing must be at the correct setting for your lawn mower or snow blower to perform at top level, affecting the speed and efficiency at which the engine fires. It`s possible to adjust your engine`s timing with a timing light and a set of wrenches, tools available at any auto or lawn mower parts store.
To adjust your timing, all you need to do is turn the distributor housing one direction or the other, depending on whether or not you want to advance or move back the timing. If the rotor turns clockwise, you`ll advance the timing by rotating the distributor counterclockwise, and vice versa.
If the engine timing of the cam is off, your car will either be running rough or not at all. If the ignition timing is the problem, it isn`t as easy to notice because it has four cycles: Intake valve sucks in air while fuel is delivered by the injectors. The fuel mixture is reduced.
There are several ways you can adjust injection timing, depending on the type of engine you have and how old it is. The most common ways to adjust injection timing are programming the ECM, adjusting the fuel injection pump, replacing the camshaft, and replacing the cam followers or gaskets.
The valves are timed so the intake valve opens slightly before the piston reaches top dead center (TDC) on the exhaust stroke. Likewise, the exhaust valve is timed to close just after the piston starts down on the intake stroke.
Ignition timing for 2-stroke engines is determined by the height of the piston before top dead center. The ignition timing given in the maintenance manuals of the time is indicated by the distance from top dead center, not the angle of the crankshaft.

ANSWER : There is no need to prime. But you do need to use the black spray nozzle to get soap to siphon out.

ANSWER : You probably can get a kit, but before you do check out northerntool.com. it might be easier and cheaper to just replace the handle

ANSWER : Sounds like the unloader (regulator). Try removing the nozzle, the pull the trigger with the engine running. If motor is still running then it could be the Unloader malfunctioning. If you require a new one try a bypass system for the unloader. The bypass will help save the life of the unloader.

Troy bilt pressure washer will not build or reach high pressure
ANSWER : Check the non-return valves in the pump block. if these are damaged or dirty you pressure will be greatly reduced. they are located behind the 3 lage brass hexagonal caps.

ANSWER : Could be low water pressure I have found.Also, I purchased a can of “stuff” at Lowes today which allows you to circulate a liquid substance which lubricates the pressure pump….the pump could be frozen up…I have a rotating nozzle which I bought…and it had frozen up…this stuff works
