By ridges do you mean digs into the ground on that side?

How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

Grass clippings building up more than usual under your mower deck may be caused by moisture in the grass when you cut it. Wetness causes the grass to clump, making it more likely to stick to the underside of the deck.
Using the garden hose to spray off the grass buildup will easily remove the buildup that isn`t solidified. Once you have the loose clippings out of the way, you can work on removing the caked-on buildup with a scraper or putty knife.
Why is my mower leaving a trail of grass on the right hand side? The issue is probably the amount of material that is being cut. The blades turn counter clockwise, so if you try to cut more material than the unit can handle, you will have a windrow of material build up on the right hand side.
Stand the mower up on its side. Take a garden hose and spray the deck at full blast. This will loosen some of the dirt and caked-on grass clippings. Scrub off the rest of the soil, using a brush, soap, and hot water.
Because when grass gets too long, your mower is forced to chop off way more than a ⅓ of each grass plant. This in turn will result in a clumping nightmare. That`s why we recommend you set the mower deck to around 3 and ½ inches and mow more often. Never remove more than one-third of the blades length at a time.
It is an excellent lawn mower cleaner. A simple spray of WD-40, like a lawnmower cleaner on the blades and the housing, will keep the grass from sticking to it. It will also keep the housing and blades free from rust.
A power wash system with the right pressure levels can make the job of cleaning land mowers easy and effortless, as it can remove grass build-up and other debris underneath the mower deck. Cleaning the deck after mowing will enable the mower to perform with greater efficiency.
A dull blade is the number one reason for leaving uncut grass. The blunt blade will damage your lawn in no time at all; it tears the grass and leaves a jagged edge which turns the grass tips yellow. The recommended way to repair the yellow grass damage – regularly cut with a sharp lawnmower blade.
A dull blade can make your lawn appear yellow, brown and raggedy. A dull lawnmower blade may even pull up portions of the grass because it actually pulls on the entire plant instead of slicing through the blades of grass cleanly.
A graphite undercoating is the best way to protect a lawn mower deck and it is easy to apply to extend the deck`s life almost indefinitely. Graphite forms a hard, slippery coating to inhibit corrosion and rust on metal surfaces.
Lumpy lawns can come about due to a number of reasons. Improper use of irrigation, mowing methods, fertilization, and aeration could force lumps to arise. The more you take care of your grass, the thicker and healthier it will be.

I had hit a somewhat hidden stump on the lawn..bending the blade. Took the deck off and replaced the bent blade. Put the deck back on and now the cut seems uneven. It appears that the deck is now uneven. I attempted to follow the directions for a side-to-side leveling. Started with trying to measure the blade height and am struggling with getting to a spot where I can measure the blade on the left side. By looking at the deck, it appears to be uneven. I am struggling with being able to raise the left side of the deck.
ANSWER : I’ve only had luck removeing the deck, turn it upside down. Measure blade, mark, remove blade, insert large pipe over spindle, bend in direction. Re-install blade, and do it all over and over till straight. Measure in several locations.
