Tiller: Why won`t my tillers wheels or tines turn? A broken drive belt, bad transmission or problem with the clutch cable can prevent a tiller`s wheels and tines from turning. Check the drive belt and replace it if it`s worn or broken.
The extension spring is commonly used to allow the idler pulley bracket to pivot when activating or turning off the blade rotation.
The tiller is an above-ground branch on a grass plant. Tillers are an important component of the crop`s shoot system and through carbon capture and partitioning, contribute to seed yield. As a tiller grows and develops, additional tillers can form in the leaf axils of that tiller.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Using an undersized cord, a larger number cord gauge (AWG) than recommended in the chart, will cause a loss in power and overheating of the tiller.
Tension springs are wound helical coils that are wrapped tightly together to create tension. Also called extension springs, tension springs provide extended force when the spring is pulled apart from its original length.
To adjust spring tension, qualified personnel should loosen all of the set screws in the tensioner and axle support at both ends of the door. At the tensioner end, they`ll place a pipe wrench around the end of the axle so that pulling down on the pipe wrench will rotate that axle to increase spring tension.
You should change your tiller oil at least every spring, but ideally after every 50 hours of operation. Between oil changes, check your oil level before each use to ensure there`s enough oil present. Small amounts of oil may burn off during use, so you may need to occasionally top it off.

How do i rewind the recoil spring on my craftsman lawn mower?
ANSWER : Normally these small engines use a clock spring to retract the rope.
Remove the cover on the top and you should find the spring either broken or the tab where the spring end has broken off or jumped out of the mount.
You will need to pre-load the spring with enough tension to retract the rope.
Remove the pull handle from the rope, load the spring and then wrap the rope around the pully holding the pully and spring in the loaded position. place the end of the rope through the hole and tie up the handle. The rope should pull and retract without being installed on the engine.

Cannot get the recoil spring on model 18r back in housing!
ANSWER : If it goes into a metal housing that is like a can lid with short sides and has one area that is open onthe side and the whole thing has a small hole in the center of the flat side….Take the metal housing, lay it flat on a table or other flat surface. Figure which way the spring would go. Lay the small end of the spring in the housing with the spring wire going out the open slot. Now all you do is wind the spring in by turning the housing. You must keep the spring in the housing with your other hand, maybe a flat piece of wood or something to hold the spring from jumping out. Once you have it all in the housing, reinstall it. If the spring is backward, CAREFULLY pull the spring out until it is no longer under tension, flop the spring over and go again…Good luck…Lee

When I pull the starter cord there is no tension. The cord basically falls out of the weed eater. I pulled it apart and it will work for about one pull and not a second. When I took it apart a very small spring fell out, but i can’t see where it would go, you have anything?
ANSWER : Ouch. It sounds like the cord rewind spring has gotten out of position. These things can be holy terrors to get back in the cavity in which they rest.

Check on a new rewind spring assembly. This might be more cost effective than trying to get a service person to put the spring back into place.
