How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

Description. Landa pump oil, 10W 40, is a quality mineral base lubricating oil ideal for use in high pressure piston precision pumps.
What Is SAE 30 Oil? The SAE 30 oil is a single grade oil with a viscosity rating of 30. It`s called a single grade (or monograde) oil because it only has one viscosity grade. This is different from a multi grade oil, like 10W-30, which is rated for both SAE 10W and SAE 30.
SAE 10W-30 or SAE 10W-40 are oils that are useful in both hot summer and cold winter days. For example, if you are looking to use your pressure washer and the temperatures are about 40 degrees (F) or less, SAE 10W-30 will be your failsafe option. Anything about 40 degrees, it can still be your best option.
PUMP OIL, 32 OZ., LANDA.
Description: Chevron Supreme SAE 5W30 motor oil is ideal for use in pressure washers that use four-stroke gasoline engines.
Most pressure washer pumps use a 30w non-detergent oil. This is because most pressure washer pumps use splash lubrication. This is a process that includes rotating “dippers” that throw oil into the pistons and cylinders.
Here`s the recommended ambient temperature range for each oil grade, in general: SAE 10W-30 motor oil: -25°C (-13°F) to 30°C (86°F) SAE 10W-40 motor oil: -25°C (-13°F) to 40°C (104°F)
The essential differences between SAE 30 and 10W30 are that the SAE 30 is made to run machines that are much more compact than the machines 10W30 would handle. In addition, the SAE 20 has a thicker viscosity whereas the 10W30 is quite thinner.
“It is a common practice in the construction and mining industries to use engine oil SAE 10, SAE 20 or SAE 30 with the lowest API rating as a substitute for hydraulic oil ISO 32, ISO 46 or ISO 68, respectively for hydraulic systems of heavy equipment.
Gas-powered pressure washers need pump oil changes, too. Pump oil is different from engine oil. It works to cool and lubricate a different but equally important part of your washer — the pump. Learning how to change both types of oil is vital to getting the best and longest performance from your pressure washer.
Honda recommends . 58 quarts or . 55 liters of oil for the GCV160`s air-cooled 4-stroke overhead cam engine.

Pressure washer water pumps need relatively low oil recommended by the manufacturer, as specified in the owner`s manual. (Purchase pre-measured bottles of pump oil for water pumps without dipsticks.) Never use special oil additives or detergents, unless specified in the owner`s manual.
Two-stroke engines require one of two types of fuel: either a gas/oil mixture of 40:1 or 50:1. Always check your owner`s manual for your specific model before mixing the fuel. Finally, add the appropriate amount of 2-cycle oil (usually two 2.6-ounce bottles) to your two-gallon gan can.
The engine oil should be changed after the first 10 to 15 hours of operation on a new machine. After the initial oil change, the engine oil should be changed every 100 hours or every 3 months. Use oil recommended in the engine manual supplied by the engine manufacturer. Always check the oil level before each operation.

Most machine oils have a mineral oil base. Synthetic oils are man-made oils. They contain some of the same petroleum-based products that mineral oil is made from. They are used when you need a stable oil that offers high thermal resistance and a high viscosity index.

I bought a troybuilt pressure washer used and i changed the motor oil and ran it maybe 5 minutes.
later i checked the oil level again and it shot out the cap and i noticed the pump oil level is also almost to the top of sight glass. Does anyone know whats wrong?

always turn the fuel tap off when not using your pressure wahser.

I have a Honda GX240 that burns oil like crazy. Rings are perfect as are the valve guides..what’s the problem?

My Honda 2600 psi power washer will not pull to start. It was running great then I allowed the neighbor to borrow it. He ran the washer till it was out of gas and proceeded to refuel and at this point it would no longer start. The pull cord is out about 4-6 inches out and I am concerned about taking the casing off myself.

Fearing that it may throw more off on the unit. If i take the casing off are there any spring loaded parts that will dismount?

What should I do? Spark Plug? Turn wrenches?

Please let me know

ANSWER : You should be fine to take the recoil off, there shouldn’t be anything that shoots out at you. You might want to check the oil level on the engine, many of the Honda engines won’t start unless there is enough oil in them. If your oil level is fine, check to make sure that your motor is getting spark.
