This camshaft is connected to the crankshaft via belt, chain or gears. This ensures consistent timing of the valves in relation to the motion of the pistons.
The camshaft is connected via the timing chain and sprockets at a 1:2 ratio to the crankshaft and therefore revolves once for every two turns of the crank.
Introduction. The connecting rod (con rod, or conrod) connects a piston to the crankshaft. The rods are made from drop-forged, heat-treated steel to provide the required strength. Each end of the rod is bored, with the smaller top bore connecting to the piston pin (wrist pin) in the piston.
A connecting rod, also called a `con rod`, is the part of a piston engine which connects the piston to the crankshaft. Together with the crank, the connecting rod converts the reciprocating motion of the piston into the rotation of the crankshaft.
Remember the camshaft makes one complete revolution (360°) while the crankshaft rotates twice (720°) for a complete engine cycle.
The camshaft rotates at half the speed or revolutions as the crankshaft. So for every 360 degrees of rotation for the crankshaft the camshaft(s) only rotate 180 degrees. 4 stroke engines rotate 2 times for a complete cycle. That means it takes 720 crank degrees to make a full cycle.

Husqvarna 141 piston ring, what is the required gap for the ring? Also, does it matter which way the piston is positioned in the cylinder, there is no arrow or difference that I can tell by looking at it.
ANSWER : It’s been a few years but I’ve installed piston rings in many small engines. Many rings are beveled or rounded on the top outside to prevent excessive cylinder wear or scaring the cylinder wall. The bevel should be very slight and very hard so see. Some may have a small dot or marking cast into the ring near the end/split. If that is the case the ring should be installed with the marking turned toward the cylinderhead. Hint, lube the piston, rings, and cylinderwall before installing the piston. Gene

Drive shaft not engaging – Ryobi 30 Cubic Centimeter Curved Shaft Gas Trimmer
ANSWER : Hi there Reyles,On this model, if yo rev the engine and the head just sits there, it can be one of two things.

Clutch not engaging (unlikely)
Broken flex shaft (likely)You need to partially disassemble the unit to find out. I believe you will need a T25 or T27 torx head. Remove the screws from the clutch housing that connects the engine to the shaft.Pull it apart. Spin the shaft manually. If nothing its the shaft. Otherwise its the clutch.Best regardsMike

Husqvana LTH 2038 model, blade is bent so bought new ones, when i tried to put on the new ones the right hand side one hits the deck. What could it be (checked the blades they are the right ones)
ANSWER : It sounds like whatever bent the blade may have also bent the rotator shaft,, if this is the case – replace the right hand rotator shaft,, then re-install the new blades and all should be good to go.
(( if the shaft looks ok on a roll test,, it could be the mount and metal portion of the shaft and you could get lucky and try and use a breaker bar to flex and bend it back into the proper position ).

Pondmaster mdl 24 Series magnetic pump.

re: Replacement impeller/magnetic shaft installation

Question: What do I need to do to install the impeller ***’y into the pump housing to ALLIGN THE CERAMIC IMPELLER SHAFT INTO IT’S BEARING without breaking the ceramic shaft off?

Situation: The strong magnetic field of the impeller ***’y instantly pulls itself into the housing and magnetically attaches itself to the winding wall. The impeller shaft is thus OFFCENTER and cannot be moved inside it’s bearing mount. It MUST BE CENTERED in the housing in order to seat the shaft inside the bearing.

I am baffled. Help really appreciated.

ANSWER : The bearing needs to be pressed onto the ceramic shaft before inserting the impeller into the housing. Then it just drops in (while trying to hold on to it the best you can to keep it from slamming in.). New bearings didn’t come with the new impeller? If not you will have to carefully pry out the old bearing from inside the housing.
