My guess is you may need a carb overhaul kit. It sounds like the carb is flooding all the time which may only require a strip and blow out. The air and fuel passages in these carbs are tiny and easily blocked so a blast with an airline can usually do the trick. While you are at it, clean the air filter. There are small parts inside so strip on a clean bench and lay parts out in sequence. There is a small diaphragm inside which can get pin holes in it which is why I said get a repair kit. You don’t need a dealer kit as such, just get the carb details and go online ebay etc if you don’t have somebody local. Don’t use an airline on an assembled carb, you will damage the diaphragm. There are only 2 makes of carb generally so go online to the manf and down load matching info to give you a guide. There’s a great guide at www.saws.com search husky 61
How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?
We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :
1. Dull chain and or improper lubrication to the bar and chain, sharpen and or clean the bars oil holes. 2. Air filter and fuel filter for restrictions and contamination, clean or replace as needed.
There could be various causes: incorrect fuel mixture, carburation not calibrated properly, or a wet spark plug. In spite of their power and robustness, chainsaws are actually rather delicate machines that require careful and precise maintenance at every stage of their life cycle.
The fuel line may be clogged from stale fuel deposits, more reasons to cause your chainsaw to cut out when applying throttle. If a fuel line is cracked, it will leak gasoline and draw air from outside into the fuel line. If the line is leaking fuel, it needs to be replaced.
If your chainsaw still starts and then stops working, check the air filter. Clean or replace the air filter if it is dirty or damaged. Another reason that your chainsaw starts and then stops working could be that the spark arrestor is dirty or clogged. If this is the case, clean it with a wire brush.
If the car`s in a garage, make sure the garage door`s open and there`s plenty of ventilation. To clear the excess fuel: Crank the engine with the accelerator pedal pushed to the floor. Continue cranking the engine (for up to 10 seconds) until you hear the engine trying to start.
Often your nose can make the diagnosis: Flooded engines reek of unburned fuel. Park the mower on level ground, and wait about 15 minutes for the gas to evaporate. Then try starting it again, with the choke off.
Loss of spark is caused by anything that prevents coil voltage from jumping the electrode gap at the end of the spark plug. This includes worn, fouled or damaged spark plugs, bad plug wires or a cracked distributor cap.
The reason for that may be you`re using the saw at altitude or the carburetor adjustment has simply slipped. The saw also won`t operate well at speed if the air filter or spark arrestor or carburetor are dirty.
Check the Fuel Flow The flow of fuel must also remain consistent during operation. If you`re dropping power under load and your air systems are clean, then somewhere gas is leaking from the system. You`ll want to start at the tank, checking the vent hole on the tank to make sure it`s not plugged.
