The mower deck on our Cub Cadet RZT 50 mower stopped working while mowing. We have cycled the PTO switch several times with no change. The belt is in place and the mower blades rotate freely by hand. PTO will not engage on my 0 turn Cub Cadet RZT 50. What should I check and how do I check it?
ANSWER : See if the switch is getting power to it and if it is see if the clutch is getting power. it needs 12 volts in order to engage.

ANSWER : I had the same problem. there was a short in the relay just before the wire gets to to back pulley assembly.

ANSWER : Get the carburator cleaned there is dirt in it

The pto on my cub cadet 1515 cuts off. It will
ANSWER : Mine does the same thing. I’ve found that normally this is a heat-related problem and by removing all the clippings from the deck the blades will re-engage just fine until (unless) the clippings mount up again. Hope this helps; I make sure the deck is clean top and bottom before I mow.

Have a cub cadet GT 1554. When I engage the pto, it shuts the engine down. Could pto need replacing?
