r power straight out of the generator while running the engine and still had nothing! The brushes were clearly burnt. The resistors on top had burn spots on it, so I changed them. Part # 91825GS I checked the receptical and I still have no power.

Experienced gardeners share their insights in answering this question :
I have only repaired 3 in my life but it was the rectifier on the second 2 and the first one needed to have its field coils “Excited”. That’s done by touching the NEGATIVE battery lead to their lead wire. Rectifies are cheap and only about the size of a quarter. The old ones weighed around 20 pounds and were made up of steel plates and wire. The new ones are ICs. Good Luck!

How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

Why does your generator not produce any voltage? The most common causes of a generator producing no voltage is the loss of residual magnetism in the alternator and or a failed AVR or another excitation component. If the voltage is around 50-70V on each phase, then it is likely the AVR needs replacement.
If your portable generator is running but not generating power, it may have blown a fuse or tripped a circuit breaker. Resetting the breaker and replacing blown fuses will easily solve this.
Loss of residual magnetism may be caused by the generation being out of use for a while, having a connected load when the generator is shut off, running your generator for too long with no load, or if your generator is new, it could have lost residual magnetism from long distance transportation vibration.
Firstly, check all voltage-sensing fuses to ensure that none of them have blown. Secondly, take out each fuse, visually check for issues, clean and replace. Ensure firm fit. Check capacitors if you generator has any capacitors.
Two key factors affect the magnitude of voltage induced. The speed at which the conductor moves through the fixed magnetic field and the strength of the magnetic field determine the output voltage.
At a certain point, glazing and carbon buildups become so extreme that completely striping the engine, reboring the cylinders, and machining new honing marks is the only solution. Regularly running generators at low or no load will, without a doubt, eventually result in total generator failure.
Generator Failure

There could be air in the fuel system, a leak in the line, or an issue with the check valves. It`s a good idea to have a technician perform an inspection to determine the cause of the generator failure.

To restore the small amount of residual magnetism necessary to begin voltage buildup, connect a 12 volt battery with a current limiting device to the exciter field while the generator is at rest, as follows: 1. Remove exciter field leads F+ and F- from the voltage regulator.
The overwhelming majority of Generac generator failures have to do with an old or damaged battery. Generator batteries should be changed every two years at an absolute minimum. Coolant levels. Low coolant levels will trip a sensor and force the generator into a “no start” state.
Voltage Regulator

The alternator of a generator produces A/C current. This is not the desired current for charging a battery storage system or operating various machinery. Instead, direct current (D/C) is needed. The voltage regulator controls the voltage of the current and changes it from A/C to D/C current.

The magnetic field produced by the stator poles induces a voltage in the rotor (or armature) coils when the generator is rotated. This induced voltage is represented by a voltage source. The stator coil has resistance, which is connected in series.

Probably, the most common symptom associated with a bad regulator is flickering, dimming, or pulsing lights.
In a turbine generator, a moving fluid—water, steam, combustion gases, or air—pushes a series of blades mounted on a rotor shaft. The force of the fluid on the blades spins/rotates the rotor shaft of a generator. The generator, in turn, converts the mechanical (kinetic) energy of the rotor to electrical energy.

The generator does not produce voltage. The engine starts fine and runs good! Toro clear won't start – Toro Power Clear 621 R
ANSWER : Bad gas , plug ,air filter , no spark ck all need all 3 to start

Craftsman lt1100 17.5 ohv engine won’t start without help. Starter won’t spin engine. Battery is new and fully charged. It tries to spin the engine but engine won’t continue to turn over unless I manually spin the top of the engine with my hand. Then it starts right up. I changed out the cables, solenoid with no help. Suspected the starter, took it apart. Brushes are in good condition. Cleaned, lubed it and reinstalled. Same problem. It is like the intial compression stroke is stopping the engine from turning over. New Starter????? Any help would be appreciated!
ANSWER : Try to make sure all connections are clean. i have this same machine that does exactly what you are saying. if battery is all charged up. try setting parking brake.Put in neutral, get off the machine and turn the key. this is what i do and machine cranks fast and starts. my issue is in that saftey switch in my seat.

How to change oil – Toro Power Clear 621 ZE 21 163cc Single Stage Snow Blower E-Start
ANSWER : There is usally a bolt underneath the motor which you take out it is usally 1/2 in use a socket to take it out drain put back on refill some are on the topside at the bottom but you get the idea

I have Remington REM55PV heater. It starts just fine but when I take finger off ignition button, heater won’t stay running.
ANSWER :

My Honda 2600 psi power washer will not pull to start. It was running great then I allowed the neighbor to borrow it. He ran the washer till it was out of gas and proceeded to refuel and at this point it would no longer start. The pull cord is out about 4-6 inches out and I am concerned about taking the casing off myself.

Fearing that it may throw more off on the unit. If i take the casing off are there any spring loaded parts that will dismount?

What should I do? Spark Plug? Turn wrenches?

Please let me know

ANSWER : You should be fine to take the recoil off, there shouldn’t be anything that shoots out at you. You might want to check the oil level on the engine, many of the Honda engines won’t start unless there is enough oil in them. If your oil level is fine, check to make sure that your motor is getting spark.

Engine part for Tecumseh 6hp 195cc
ANSWER : The float and pin can be bought as a repair kit., and replaced.

The oil pressure light comes on when i idle down the engine and one time it shut down and would not start back i let it sit for several hours and it started back and is running fine but the oil light still comes on when i idle it down
ANSWER : So, tell me have you checked your oil level? that would be the first thing to do then check your oil pressure switch and /connections
