ANSWER : If this is 220v then your netural is not a netural but a common. Meaning it is common 110v to both the high and low speeds of pump. The high and low speed are the same leg of the 220v or the other 110v leg they just separate at the clock or high/ low switch. Then yes they run through separate windings for high and low.
If your not getting high speed it could be the high speed winding but be sure to check your switch and high speed lead first before doing anything else.

ANSWER : Turn them both in , gently, till they bottom out and then back them out 1 1/2 turns. This will get you real close and then fine tune them from there. hope this helps.

I have a Waterway Spa Pump Executive 56 Frame 4hp Dual Speed PF-40-2N22C in a Catalina spa that recently developed an issue. The pump will not start in low speed, just makes a humming noise, but it will start in high speed and will also continue to run in low speed when switched back from high speed. Does anyone know what might be wrong, and also how the power it supplied to this motor to achieve the two speeds?
ANSWER : The problem with the sound is the bearings inside the motor are going out. i have the same pump and i have to replace the motor. replacing the bearings is very hard and will cost you about the same after you carry the motor and new bearings to a shop to be pressed in. hope this helps!!

ANSWER : It could be the governor spring is weak. Get your model type and code numbers off the engine shroud and take them to your local small engine repair shop and get the new spring. It’s not hard to replace. Install the new one and you should be up and running.

ANSWER : Gently turn the needel valves all the way in and the back them out 1 and 1/2 turns each. Then you you make adjust ments depending on how the saw runs. If it runs fine at idel the low jet is fine. If it does not run at high speed adjust the hi jet.
