Pro 24-Inch 208cc LCT Gas Powered Two-Stage Snow Thrower…
Experienced gardeners share their insights in answering this question :
Most augers have safety pins that break in case you hit a rock or something like a news paper. Make sure the engine is not running and the auger drive is in the off position. Rotate the auger by hand to locate the pin hole to line it up with the one in the shaft and replace the pin. ( Your dealer will stock them. just tell them what make or model.)

If the cogged belt is worn out, misadjusted, or broken, the snowblower auger won`t turn. Inspect the cogged belt to determine if it is broken or worn out, and ensure that the belt is properly adjusted. If the belt is broken or worn out, replace it.
A clogged carburetor is usually the result of leaving fuel in your snow blower for an extended period of time. Old fuel resting in your snow blower can also result in fuel evaporation, which may leave behind a thick, sticky substance. That sticky fuel can clog the carburetor and prevent the engine from starting.
If your auger keeps turning when the engine is idling, the carburetor may need to be adjusted. The clutch controls the movement of the auger by engaging them when the engine has reached a set speed.
Go ahead a place your hand on each auger in turn; they may move slightly; that`s normal, but they should not be free to spin. What is this? If you can spin it, your shear pin has sheared.

A snowblower auger should not spin freely when the auger control lever is off. A free-spinning auger is a symptom of broken shear pins. Shear pins are a fail-safe feature designed to break when the auger hits a solid object.
Sometimes, when you`re drilling through a harder surface or drier ground, your auger can get stuck. Pouring some water around the hole will allow the soil to loosen around the tool, giving you more wiggle room to slide it out.

My MTD 10hp auger will not turn. I adjusted the auger cable by tightening the bolt on the handle. I disconnected the spark plug and checked the shear pins on both sides of the auger. They are both still there. The snow thrower worked fine when I last used it in
April of 2010. The snow thrower starts, and goes in all gears in forward and reverse. Is there a separate belt to turn the augers?
Thank you
ANSWER : Yes there are 2 belts one for the drive and one for the auger. If you remove the cover on top that is located between the engine and the auger housing you can check the belts. The auger belt has come off the pulley or is broken. Hope this helps you out. Best regards and good luck.
Engine runs, blades turn but mower will not move

Exmark 44 Mower bogs down going forward
ANSWER : When you say ‘going forwaed’, is that while mowing or does it do it without the blades engaged or ‘not mowing’?
My Z5426 won’t start. When I pull out the choke and turn the key, gas starts leaking out of the exhaust system just before it gets to the muffler. Last time it did start, it ran really rough. So, I turn off the engine and then tried to restart and that’s when I noticed the fuel leak.
ANSWER : Maybe bad fuel, fuel line leaking, flooding of the carburetor, since it did start and ran rough I am assuming that the gas was left set and more then likely this gummed up the carburetor, you will have to clean/rebuild it. If you have a can of carburetor clean you may be able to spray that into there and clean it up, I would not choke it to start it as it sounds like it got/is flooded/ing. Good Luck Tim

On my cu cadet zero turn only the left side turns and the right side moans but wont move ever with the release lever to free wheel released
ANSWER : Check the hydraulic oil level for the hydrostat drives(if it has a reserve tank located under the seat. Some ZT’s don’t have the reserve tank. Don’t over fill that tank. 1/4 inch above the bottom is all it needs.)
Also, check the steering arm bolts. Very often they work themselves loose and the arm doesn’t pull the valve rod that controls the hydrostat unit.
Battery goes dead over night – Toro 42'' Zero Turn Lawn Mower Trailer Package Deal ()
ANSWER : First thing to do is find out if it’s the battery or the mower. Disconnect the battery and leave it overnight. If it’s dead in the morning, you need a new battery. If not, you either have a charging problem (not likely if the battery isn’t dead after using the mower) or you have a current drain.
