How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?
We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :
The biggest culprit for why your fishing line unravels and falls off the spool is there simply isn`t enough space for it in the first place. Unless you are using a reel designed for saltwater, most spinning reels aren`t able to handle as much or as heavy of fishing line as baitcasters.
Manually Close the Bail of Your Spinning Reel The first tactic is to manually close the bail after every cast; a quick slap is all that`s necessary to do so and reduce initial line twist. Once the bail has been manually closed, pull the line tight (from the spool forward), then wind on a few feet under pressure.
Tension. The spool tension knob controls how easily your spool spins. Avoiding backlash largely depends on ensuring your spool and your line spin at the same rate, controlled via the spool tension knob. Backlash occurs when the spool spins faster than the line coming through the guide.
Wind knots primarily happen because of two reasons: The line is coming off of the spool faster than the line is passing through the rod tip. The line is twisted.
Line twist is caused by memory in lines such as monofilament or fluorocarbon. As these lines sit on the small spinning reels used when ice fishing, is reeled against the drag when fighting a fish and continues to go through ice build ups and heat cycles line twist becomes more and more serious.
Run the line through the guides on the rod to the reel with the bail open and tie it tightly to the spool. If you use a regular overhand square knot, pass the end through twice instead of just once – it will help keep the line tight on the spool.
You want your line to be laying evenly on the spool. If there is more line at the top of the spool or bottom of it, this will cause your line to leave the spool unevenly (large coils mixed with smaller coils) which causes line overlap and tangles. This problem is due to the washers on the shaft that your spool sits on.
To begin with it`s important to fill your reels full. Casting reels should be between an eighth of an inch from the top and all the way to the top. If you get too much line on them, you`ll get a weird sound when you cast. Spinning reels should be all the way full, right to the top.

Shaft disengages and trimmer head stops spinning. Seems to be disengaging at coupling were attachments hook up. Shaft slides back and forth and when I turn trimmer off and jiggle trimmer then start it back up it works for a while then stops.
ANSWER : Something wrong with your cintrifical force clutch . it is problably set too loose so the the shaft wont engage
After a few seconds the line stops spinning fast enough to cut through any weeds even on a full battery
ANSWER : This model has gotten some bad reviews because of the short battery lifetime. Mine started doing this after ~8 mo of use, so I replaced it with a corded model. Depending on how old it is, you can try (1) taking it back to where you purchased it, (2) calling a black and decker service center to replace the battery on their $, or (3) buying a replacement battery yourself. Sorry, but your battery is bad.
I cant remove the spool to change the line. it appears to be stuck.
ANSWER : Well there is either a screw knob that must be unscrewed first, or you aren’t removing it correctly. Some just Pull/pop right off. Others must be pushed in and twisted (Like a child proof cap) usually in the opposite direction the line spins. Pull the cord a tiny bit to see which way it spins, then push down/in on the spool (its spring loaded) and twist opposite. Most of today’s trimmers will give you the spool like that. Putting it back on it simply the reverse action.

Pump works for about 20 seconds then stops for 40 seconds then starts again.
ANSWER : This sounds as if motor is overheating and the thermal switch is stopping it (why it restarts by itself) if a pump is overheating then a few reasons need be looked at , is pump encountering higher viscosity’s than designed for and is having trouble moving liquid fast enough , is distance pump has to lift liquid over what it’s designed to do most of these pumps use liquid it’s moving to provide cooling to pump , is liquid it’s moving warm/Hot allready if so use different type of pump (non submerged) and last but not least is pump worn out and is failing moving parts wearing together make heat !!! ?
Motor stops, washer was working , full level in oil and good oil. Don’t starts again, apparently barred engine, does not “turn” around.
ANSWER : Whats it like if you remove the pump and gearbox if driven by a gearbox?
Motor starts, stops, starts, stops etc never running completely. not putting out much water pressure. not building pressure??
ANSWER : Is you nozzle plugged? That is what this sounds like.
