There`s no difference between a `strimmer` and a `trimmer`, they`re the same tool.
Stihl (/stiːl/ ( listen), German: [ʃtiːl]) is a German manufacturer of chainsaws and other handheld power equipment including trimmers and blowers. Their headquarters are in Waiblingen, Baden-Württemberg, near Stuttgart, Germany.
Strimmers often have a nylon or plastic blade, which deals with grass trimming and weeds just fine but could easily break upon contact with overgrown areas. Brush cutters, on the other hand, use metal blades to get through thicker, hardier vegetation.
But it`s not just long grass in tight spots that a strimmer is good for. They`re great at scything down long grass ready for a lawnmower, good at getting rids of weeds wherever they live and the ideal tool for creating crisp clean lawn edges.
If you really must strim wet grass, you can. But make sure it`s only once in a while. Cutting grass when it`s wet also increases the chances of lawn diseases taking a hold and damaging your lawn.
STIHL competitors include Husqvarna and MTD Products.

Typically speaking, brush cutters run on either a two-stroke or a four-stroke engine. Two-stroke engines tend to be lighter than four-stroke engines, but they are also more difficult to start and less efficient. While being more powerful, four-stroke engines are more expensive and less common.
The trimmer line cleanly mows the grass and can be easily adjusted in case of wear or contact with objects. On the other hand, lawn trimmers with plastic blades are more suitable for larger lawns, as they show less material wear. However, caution is advised close to walls and stony areas.
Most STIHL gasoline-powered equipment runs on a 50:1 mixture of gasoline and 2-cycle engine oil. Knowing the proper way to mix your fuel is the first step in keeping it running strong and long.
Mixing Your Fuel
Your strimmer runs off a mix of semi-synthetic 2-stroke oil and unleaded petrol (40:1). Our petrol tools come with a measuring jug with guide lines. Find the side marked 40:1, add your petrol to the first line and your 2-stroke oil to the second.
THE RIGHT FUEL AND OIL RATIO FOR YOUR STIHL PETROL TOOL
1:25 = 1 part oil + 25 parts petrol, or 40 ml oil per litre of petrol when using other brands of oil.
Also known as grass trimmers, weed-whackers, line trimmers and string trimmers, these versatile tools are perfect for creating beautifully uniformed boarder edges, trimming around difficult terrain such as trees and garden ornaments, as well as clearing larger patches of unruly rough vegetation.
A grass trimmer is used to trim lawn edges where a mower can`t reach. A trimmer with a curved shaft is often used for easy trimming around lawns and flowerbeds.
