How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

Causes include the starter not lining up correctly with the ring gear on the flywheel, missing or damaged gear teeth, or a faulty solenoid. Replacing the starter is most often the right solution. However, if there is damage to the ring gear on the flywheel, the ring gear will need to be replaced.
The solenoid is working correctly if the test light turns on. If the light comes on but the starter doesn`t, it indicates an issue with the starter and you may need a replacement. If there`s no light at all, you likely have a bad starter solenoid. It may also be worth testing the battery to check for a voltage drop.
The good news is that the starter should not have to be replaced very often, if at all. It was designed to be used repeatedly under a variety of weather and road conditions. You should be able to count on the starter lasting at least 100,000 miles, if not for the entire life of the car.
The starter solenoid makes a rapid clicking sound. As a driver, you always need to remember that hearing any weird noise coming from your vehicle is not a good sign, whether it`s coming from the starter solenoid or other parts.
Signs of a Bad Starter Solenoid

One of the first and most common symptoms is simply no response from the starter when you turn the key – no noises or engine cranking at all. Sometimes, repeatedly trying the ignition can produce a result, but that`s not guaranteed.

Solenoids are critical car components since they allow your ignition system to reach the starter motor and, in turn, cause your car to turn on in the first place. Without a solenoid, turning your key wouldn`t start your car at all.
One of the symptoms of a bad starter is a clicking noise when you turn the key or push the start button. However, a starter can die without making any sound at all, or it may announce its impending death with whirring and grinding noise—so listen up!
Clicking when starting usually means the starter motor pinion gear is crashing into the flywheel due to a depleted battery that doesn`t have enough “juice” to spin the engine.
The most prevalent cause of vibration is problems with your wheels or tires. The potential problems include improper wheel and tire balance, uneven tire wear, separated tire tread, out of round tires, damaged wheels and even loose lug nuts.

My Z5426 won’t start. When I pull out the choke and turn the key, gas starts leaking out of the exhaust system just before it gets to the muffler. Last time it did start, it ran really rough. So, I turn off the engine and then tried to restart and that’s when I noticed the fuel leak.
ANSWER : Maybe bad fuel, fuel line leaking, flooding of the carburetor, since it did start and ran rough I am assuming that the gas was left set and more then likely this gummed up the carburetor, you will have to clean/rebuild it. If you have a can of carburetor clean you may be able to spray that into there and clean it up, I would not choke it to start it as it sounds like it got/is flooded/ing. Good Luck Tim

Key start turns and makes a whining “I sort of want to start” noise but does not engage the engine. Previously the key start was sort of touchy and the key had to in just the right position to engage the starter. Could this be a starter motor problem? If so what is the part/fix?
ANSWER : If it is whining, the starter motor is turning. You possibly may have a broken starter drive. This is the little gear on the starter shaft. It’s not too expensive and relatively easy to replace.
