How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

If the engine will not crank, you likely have a problem with… Discharged / defective battery or faulty electrical connections. To address these issues, check the battery and charging system for problems. Faulty parts: potentially the safety interlocks, starter motor switch (open circuit), or solenoid.
If your John Deere won`t crank and all you hear are clicking sounds when you turn the key, you likely have a bad battery or a bad connection somewhere between the battery and the starter. Double check that the alternator and battery connections are clean and tight.
Belt-the number one cause for your blades not to engage is that your belt is either stretched or loose causing it to slip or fall off completely. Belt could have snapped also. When you are trying to process too much grass/leaves they could pack up under your deck and push off your belt.
If your electric starter does not work, check to ensure the switch is still working and its connections are secured. If the switch is broken or not connected properly, it will not start the engine when engaged. A continuity test can be performed with a multimeter to determine if the switch is faulty or not.
Within the electric start system there is a small rechargeable battery. For electric start to work the battery must have charge. When the electric start button is pressed, or a key is turned, the battery drives a small electric motor to turn over and start the engine. Just like starting a car.
Riding Mower Clicks but Doesn`t Crank

When you hear a click as you turn the key, a weak battery, bad starter solenoid, faulty wiring, failed starter motor or a seized engine could be the cause. This DIY troubleshooting will help you figure out what to fix.

The possible causes of a lawn mower blade spinning but not cutting grass include a damaged or wrongly installed blade, a dull blade, or damaged lawnmower tires. Other possible reasons can be improper tire pressure, a clogged deck, or a broken mower belt.

I have an 24V electric mower.\i charge it
ANSWER : Either the connector between the battries and the mower are bad or the starter switch is bad, you know the wires between the batterries and the connector are good because you said the batterries charged just fine, so either between the connector and the motors, or the key switch has a break in its continuity, easiest way to test is connect the batterries directly to the motor to see if it works if it does connect before the start switch then after the connector the before the connector and keep moving up the connection wires until you fine where the problem is. Hope This Helps Don
