Measure the electrode gap and adjust if necessary. Spark Plug Gap: 0.0275 – 0.0314” (0.7-0.8 mm) 5.
A: This spark plug should have a gap set to 0.02 inches.
A) For 28-32 cc engines, set the gap at 0.020″ (0.5 mm). B) For 38-55 cc engines, set the gap at 0.025″ (0.635 mm). IMPORTANT!: Always refer to the appropriate product Operator`s Manual for exact specifications and additional model specific service information when replacing spark plugs.
For most racing applications, you usually want the plug gap to be between 0.020 and 0.040 of an inch. Most engine builders seem to settle around 0.035 of an inch. Factors such as the type of ignition you run, cylinder heads, fuel and even timing can affect how much gap will work best for you.
Here are some typical gap settings for cars: Standard street engine (ignition coil with distributor): 0.025″ Performance engine (ignition coil with distributor): 0.028″ Distributorless ignition system (coil on plug): up to 0.060”
One of the key factors that makes a spark plug work well, or not, is the size of the gap between the electrodes. If the gap is too small, the spark will likely be too weak and cause the engine to run poorly or with poor efficiency.
The most common signs of bad spark plugs include start-up trouble, rough idling, sluggish acceleration, declining fuel economy, engine misfiring, and engine knocking.
Forcing the wrong spark plug type will only damage your mower`s spark plug socket. This will result in a faulty engine, which could cause malfunction or worse, severe damage.

Spark plug gap – Toro Lawnmower 20099 Mower Mowers Lawn
ANSWER : Hi campbell7505
.28—-.32
Toro model number 200065 won’t start. New gas, new spark plug, cleaned air filter. Doesn’t feel like fuel is in the primer bulb when I prime it.
ANSWER : Some toro primer bulbs don’t fill up with fuel but blow air into a chamber in the carb that has fuel in it so when you press the bulb, the air sprays fuel into the carb ( just a little) So since it won’t start, the bulb probably has a very small crack in it. replace it and then try it.

ANSWER : Did you leave gas in it over the winter? If so did you add fuel stabilizer? Did you make sure the spark plug wire is connected to the spark plug?
I just bought a Toro 22 inch Recycler Lawnmower. I’ve used it 5 or 6 times. This morning the self propel drive quit working. I adjusted the cable but didn’t help. That was the only recommendation in the manual. What else can I try?

What is the spark plug gap for a Toro 450, GTS2 lawn Mower
ANSWER : Most generally out of the box your good to go! not like the old days !
Toro recycler will start until primed gas is consumed.
ANSWER : I had similar problem and cleaned the spark plug and that seemed to have worked, but I think that may be a temporary fix because the engine still seems to be running unevenly. I feel that it must be a larger problem with the carb. If anyone can help this novice to adjust the carb or clean both carb and filter, or offer other solutions I would appreciate your assistance.
This is only the second time I have used my Toro lawnmower and it won’t start. I have pulled and pulled, can’t find a primer button, checked the gas and oil (everything is fine) but it still won’t work.
ANSWER : Only the second use?? Take it back where you bought it and ask them to demonstrate for you.
Toro electric start won’t start manually
ANSWER : If it doesnt start manually, you have another issue to deal with. Whether it has electric start or not you should be able to manually pull start it. You can also get the model and serial number off the engine and contact your nearest toro dealer to have charger and key ordered. As far as a push button,it can be done, just a matter of finding someone to install one for you.
