As a general rule, you should change the spark plug approximately every 100 hours.
Pull the Plug
On most models, the spark plug is in front, by the exhaust vent. Lift off the rubber boot and use a clean cloth to wipe away any dirt and debris around the spark plug before removing it to keep the combustion chamber clean when you remove the plug.
Place the engine on the ground and set the choke to the “Start” position when starting a warm engine. Depress the throttle fully with one hand and pull the starter rope up to six times. Move the choke lever to the “Run” position and pull the starter cord five times if the engine does not start.
The Spark-Plug Gap
One of the key factors that makes a spark plug work well, or not, is the size of the gap between the electrodes. If the gap is too small, the spark will likely be too weak and cause the engine to run poorly or with poor efficiency.
Select the correct measurement on your gap gauge or feeler gauge. If you can`t get the correct feeler gauge through the gap, the gap needs to be widened. If the tool runs through the gap without touching the electrodes, the gap is too big and must be narrowed. Use your spark plug gap tool to adjust the gap.
After the engine finally begins to start, it may tend to die out immediately if something is wrong with its spark plug. In some cases, the engine may run for a while then stop while mowing. Each time the engine dies, it must be restarted, which usually proves more difficult as the engine warms.
The more worn or dirty spark plugs are, the greater the pull on the rewind and more effort is required to produce an adequate spark. If you haven`t turned on your engine recently, your mower won`t start and/or you have to tug repeatedly on the rewind to start the engine, a damaged spark plug may be the culprit.
These plugs are pre-gapped at . 044″. Do not adjust gap for factory power.

My weed eater hedge trimmer runs for about 10 minutes and cuts off. It seems as though it is flooded, because it won’t start again until some time later. But it continues with the same pattern. I purchased a can of premixed gas/oil to make sure it was my mixture, to no avail. I have not replaced the spark plug yet, but I don’t think that has anything to do with it. Do you have any suggestions?
ANSWER : The plug can be the problem but also the air mix as well get the best plug you can
