Have Scotts Edgeguard DLX. The fertilizer is from Intermountain Farmsers- The option for the Scotts brand is Scotts Speady Green. They give three options the 1000,2000 and 3000. Which option is teh Edgeguard?

This is a Scotts Speedy Green 2000 model. What is the problem when the flat thing below the hopper quits turning to throw the fertilizer out onto the yard?
ANSWER : It’s important to have precisely the right setting. A little wide is better, because the product you’re spreading isn’t always even, but you’ll have to walk faster to ensure you don’t over apply. This is a notorious problem with those plastic spreaders – I’ve used them lots – and I find that if you stop suddenly with fertilizer in the hopper it instantly stops up. Backing up quickly, then jerking it forward seems to help most of the time.
Make sure you close the chute before you stop moving, and be quick with the chute release. Also, don’t fill it too much because when you run into this problem it makes it more difficult to remedy.

ANSWER : From the OEM Scotts SpeedyGreen 3000 Broadcast Spreader Owners Manual: Calibration Your SpeedyGreen 3000 spreader was calibrated at the factory. You may check the calibration as follows: 1.) Adjust the micrometer setting to 2. 2.) Squeeze the trigger against the handle. 3.) The Calibration line engraved in the Green casing above the top of the shut-off plate should be flush with the back edge of the hopper opening. 4.) To adjust alignment, use a small wrench to turn the black calibration screw at the lower end of the control wire leading from the micrometer rate setting barrel.
