McCulloch
I have a mcculloch chain saw. it is a mac110 model 600016c the last time i used it it wouldn’t start until i primed the carb. and the would only run as long as i added fuel directly to the carb. i think the fuel line is plugged. how do i get to the fuel line to clean or replace it.also where can i get a service manuel for this saw.
Experienced gardeners share their insights in answering this question :
On my 110 you take off the front section of the saw body to get et the fuel tank and remove it to get at the fuel line. There isn’t much room to work in there so be patient.I’ll bet your carb needs new diapragms I bought my manual on e-bay.hope this helps
How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?
We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :
The two most common reasons a chainsaw won`t idle are a blocked air filter and an idle screw out of adjustment. Other possible causes include: Dirty Air Filter. Idle Screw out of Adjustment.
Oil, dirt, and debris can block them, preventing the air from flowing into the engine. If the idle port of your chainsaw gets blocked or damaged, your chainsaw won`t stay running. Check the idle port for damage or blockage. If it`s blocked, you can clean it using alcohol, kerosene, or any solvent.
If your chainsaw still starts and then stops working, check the air filter. Clean or replace the air filter if it is dirty or damaged. Another reason that your chainsaw starts and then stops working could be that the spark arrestor is dirty or clogged. If this is the case, clean it with a wire brush.
Restricted Fuel Lines The engine can be suffocated from gasoline when at peak demand for fuel if there is any slight restriction or debris in the fuel lines. The fuel line may be clogged from stale fuel deposits, more reasons to cause your chainsaw to cut out when applying throttle.
If the carburetor is clogged, it may only work with the choke engaged, which is not a good way to be running your engine. Cleaning the carburetor and replacing some of the internal parts with a new carb kit is a great way to get your carburetor running properly again.

It’s brand new, when I finally get it started it will run good for about 1 min. or less, and then it dies. I pull the choke out all the way, pull it a couple of times, push it half way in, it starts but it’s like it doesn’t have the power to turn the chain, bogging out and then it dies, I will never buy another homelite product, or recommend anyone else to, this is my second one, the first one leaked gas, Home Depot really should quit selling them, there making you look bad too!!
