How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

If the ignition coil does not have spark, it`s time to check its wires. Use a test light to check the continuity on the signal wire and power wire on the ignition coil. If both wires are functional but the coil fails to produce spark, the ignition coil or the ignition control module is bad.
If your engine is not sparking, it may be due to a problem with the CDI box. However, other potential causes of no spark include issues with the ignition coil, spark plug, or wiring.
The starter will not have any impact on the engine`s ability to produce spark. There are a number of issues that may cause an ignition system to not produce spark. A bad crankshaft position (CKP) sensor (on engines that do not have a distributor), or broken, loose or corroded wires from the sensor to the PCM.
Of course it can. The switch turns on the ignition and operates the starter. Failure to do either one will prevent the car from starting.
If you do not see a spark, there is an ignition problem. Remove a plug wire and insert an old spark plug or a spark plug tester into the end of the wire (the plug boot). Place the spark plug on a metal surface on the engine, or ground the spark plug tester to the engine. Then crank the engine to check for a spark.
A Bad Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor

If the crankshaft position sensor has failed completely, it will not send a signal to the (ECU) at all. Then, the computer won`t send any fuel to the injectors. This will leave you unable to start the car.

Spark issues are the most common symptoms of failing stators, known as “Misfiring.” If you haven`t already known, stators are directly responsible for producing the required spark for your spark plug. Once they malfunction, the motorbike will receive insufficient – or worse, zero – sparks.
One of the reasons your spark plugs might be firing incorrectly is due to a faulty crankshaft position sensor. It`s this sensor that tells your engine`s computer the position of all the valves and pistons at any given moment. The ECU then uses this information to determine when to fire the spark.
When you have a bad starter solenoid, the starter motor won`t work. This means the engine won`t start when you turn on the starter switch or press the start button. However, if your vehicle has an automatic transmission, the engine could sometimes not crank because of the neutral safety switch.
With a poor ground the starter ring return path may not allow adequate amps to return to allow a starter to reach the torque and speed to start. Normally, however, with a well tuned car and cranking, the engine will fire right up. Weakness, though, and it may not start.
This usually means the battery is bad and incapable of handling a huge request for power to crank the engine over. Headlights begin white and bright, when you try to start the engine, they dim to nothing or almost nothing then as soon as you let go of the key, the headlights QUICKLY bounce back to white and bright.
Without spark plugs, some vehicles won`t start — or go anywhere. Because the health of this car part is directly linked to engine performance, bad spark plugs can often lead to more significant problems, including prolonged cold-starting and misfires during acceleration.
If your vehicle fails to start for no apparent reason, this is also a good indicator that there may be a problem with the ECU. If you check the car battery, starter and other common electrical components, and the vehicle still does not start, a faulty engine control unit should be the next logical thing to consider.
The ignition relay is one of the most important electronic relays found on modern vehicles. It is usually located in the fuse and relay panel beneath the hood, and is responsible for providing power to the vehicle`s ignition system, and some of the fuel system`s components.
Hard Starts and Stalling

If an ignition coil is malfunctioning and not delivering the required voltage to the spark plugs, you will find it hard to start the engine. If your vehicle stalls when you stop and even shut off completely, it could be a bad ignition coil sending irregular sparks to the spark plugs.

My chainsaw has no spark, I have checked the spark plug and it works on another unit, i guess it may be the ignition, ho0wever as it is a small coil I have no way of checking. can the coil be simply tested, otherwise can one be purcahsed.
ANSWER : Yes the coil can be tested. you would need to know the proper specs but with a multimeter you should be able to get a resistance value from your plug wire to ground. With my experience 10000 – 30000 ohms should allow it to run. If this is no help one common thing is your kill switch. A wire should run from the coil to the switch, if this wire is shorted to ground it will not run.

Whats the problem?
ANSWER : Set intake valves @ .004 and exhuats @ .006 with piston a 1/4 inch downstroke from TDC.It sounds like the ACR {automatic compression release}is not working do to valves having to much lash.

Why my blade wont engage on my toro 74370 zeroturn mower
ANSWER : It has an electromagnetic clutch switch on it,that is more than likely bad. Try this, pull the pto switch out and start the engine, then disconnect the 2 wires coming from the switch and just tap them together and see if they will come on. If they do then you need to replace that switch.

WONT START REPLACE ENGINE CARBRATOR ADPT DO TO BOLT BROKEN OFF STILL WONT START
ANSWER : Check spark plug. remove the spark plug, clean it and test it. If it still doesn’t start, take the spark plug out, and connect it to spark plug wire and try to crank the blower, and see if it makes a spark, if not you may need to replace the spark plug.

Test ignition coil honda gx25
ANSWER : Okay. You have eliminated the plug. Now disconnect the coil kill wire and try for spark again. Also check grounding between the coil laminates and the cylinder with you ohm meter should read zero.

If grounding okay and with the kill wire disconnected you still get no sparks then replace the coil pack as it probably a failed internal trigger which can not tested for.
